The 85 inch Samsung TU8000 is on sale today for $1529.99 with an EPP account and is $1699 elsewhere. I know rtings gave it decent reviews but best bang for your buck big sized TV? Also comes with $150 of Google Play Credits and 20x wow points. https://www.samsung.com/us/televi...u8000fxza/
Tempting. Wanting an 85+ to replace my 75 sammy thats 3 1/2 years old. This price point is very tempting. My only concern is the conversion to 1080p or 720p for most programming today.
I've hated my Samsung TV, will not purchase another one. The smart features are absolutely obnoxious. It doesn't recognize various items like a PS4, blu ray player, etc. When playing PS4 it randomly goes to a black screen at times. It has been randomly setting our sound bar to mute lately, must of been a firmware update. If you click on their stupid TV channel, you can't remove it from your home screen, including various TV ads.
I'll be looking for another brand when I'm in the market again.

I purchased my first 4K tv Samsung Qled 65". Never again will I buy another Samsung. I bought it on this same website and nothing but problems after problem. Always sending a tech out to replace the defective screen but refused to replaced it with a brand new one. Have to call off work few times so the tech can come and fix it but the problem still exist. Even the tech said the replacement screens are refurbished. I can't take anymore days off work. I'll stick with Sony or LG once this one crap out which I'm thinking won't be long.
Do yourself a favor and buy it in a physical store so if there's any problem you can bring it in to exchange.

There is a setting to turn this on. I have not had an issue with my PS4, Fire TV, Xbox, and Roku being recognized automatically. I believe it's called HDMI-CEC but could be wrong. As for the soundbar, did you turn off the TV speakers and use the Toslink for audio? It may be different on your Samsung.

How does this compare to the UN82RU800DFXZA Costco deal ?
The RU8000 is better. This is a successor in number only. Samsung shifted their lineup, so this year's 8000 series is closer to last year's 7000 series.
