This power tool combo kit comes with 5-cordless 20V MAX tools, charger, contractor bag, and two 20V MAX 2Ah lithium ion batteries. The five tools include a DCD777 brushless 1/2-in drill/driver, DCF787 brushless 1/4-in impact driver, DCS356 brushless oscillating multi-tool, DCW210 brushless 5-in random orbital sander and DCL040 work light.

DCD777 20V MAX 1/2-in Drill/driver is compact (7.52-in front to back), and lightweight design to fit into tight areas

My work is 100% M12 and M18. My boss buys all the tools, even though he's all-in on DeWalt at home. We do maintenance work for 8 different 100+ unit apartment buildings and like 3 subvisions worth of homes and townhomes. Everything that doesn't require a licensed steamfitter we do in-house. That 90% figure is very accurate. We only break out the M18 for the biggesr jobs or the tools that don't have M12 versions like yard tools. My boss worked in construction for forever, and he uses the Milwaukee and DeWalt platforms, so I'd say between the 2 it depends on the better deal at the time, or which platform you're already invested in if you don't want a table of different chargers. For me, everything I have is M12 so far, got some more "heavy duty" projects coming up. Toss up between starting on M18s or these, personally.

Tbh I'd recommend keeping the m12. This dewalt set will complement them well. I know thats a lot of coin. But imo running a 12v + 18v (20v max) set of tools is a big plus.

i ordered the atomic with free bare tool (compact recip) from depot but glad i saw this instead. local store had 9 on the shelf too. better drills, 2.0ah batteries, better bag, ill just return the home depot when it arrives. might keep the recip though for the 85 bones

Good to know about the oscillating tool. I had a tough time comparing the items in the ATOMIC+1 kit vs this one. Dewalt's site didn't even know what some of the model number's were (... SMH) and every site I found that tried a side by side comparison had different types of data... literally unable to find an easy apples to apples comparison

So I just pulled the trigger and said the extra $70 for a flashlight (which I don't really care about) and the sander was worth it

FYI - these are not the top of the line brushless tools. There are newer versions of both the drill and impact driver. That said, it probably doesn't matter for the average Joe.

Was just looking at this and people said 12v is good enough for 90% of jobs, 18v needed more so for contractors. What type of work would this be good for at 20v? Are these units heavy?
