Curious - why the thumbs down for price? Where's a better price per unit available? The two router pack is front page at $120/unit. Granted this is only one router but also only $85/unit. Certainly better than the Kohl's deal because you don't have to deal with Kohl's cash.
Then I guess we should just stick with the Wi-Fi router we got from our ISP.. because orbeez has a horrible track record. Linksys Velop has connection issues.
Based on my research, the nest system is the most reliable compared to the competition.
Edit:. Eero is as reliable... But slower than Nest wifi,
I jumped on this. I had the Google Wifi deal from Walmart for $154. Bought this also at $340. Sold one of my Google Wifi units for $75 and replaced my main router with the Nest one. Sold 2 of the Wifi add-ons from this bundle for about $190 so my final cost for a mesh wifi network with 1 Nest Wifi router, 2 Google Wifi mesh units and an additional Nest Wifi add on point (which I'm also considering selling) is $264.
The remaining add on point I have and likely don't need is new in the box and wasn't in the same package as the other ones. I will probably dump it at a later date as they don't have Ethernet ports on them. The add on points and Google Wifi have the same specs for wireless speed but the Google ones have Ethernet in and out.
Features:
The Nest Wifi Router and Add-on Points Blanket Your Whole Home in Fast, Reliable Wi-Fi
Intelligently Works Behind the Scenes to Keep Your Wi-Fi Fast
Automatic Updates Help Your Wi-Fi Network Stay Safe and Sound
Each Nest Wifi Point has the Google Assistant, Control Your Connected Home, Network and More
1 Router and 3 Points Cover up to 7000 sq ft
Newbie on this.. how does it compare to TP Link AC2200 which I bought it today from Costco.
If you are speaking of a router by itself, this will be greatly better. If you are talking about one of their deco products the nest is better, but not by leaps and bounds, so good to factor in the price difference for the performance difference.
So in short depends what you got, but the nest currently is one of the top mesh systems up there with orbis/decos/velops and the mix of them. Depending on reviews cause I seen mixed reviews, some say they have shorter range than orbis and decos, others say longer. The performance at a distance is stronger on the nests, closer to the units better on the orbis. Seems to be the jist of what I seen on these units, have not found a real concrete review with proper testing to really pinpoint their place, but at over $300 there are cheaper options that work just as well.
