This seems like a good deal, is there any red flags to know about with the Ideapads?
There seems to be a controversy over whether it is 250 or 300 Nits. Also whether its TN or IPS. Some people in the other thread in OP's post had some buyer's return because they didnt like the screen.

According to the specs on the B&H product page: "Panel Type IPS". I should've added it to the OP.
You are right. The model number for laptop in this thread doesnt match that in staples thread. Staples models number is 81YK000LUS. This one is 81YK004BUS.
Other one had a better graphics card. Kicking myself, wish I had grabbed that i7 one. I'm new to Slickdeals, do deals like that one come often? Need a new laptop pretty soon.

Lately the really good laptop deals go quick. I need one too and I've been waiting a few weeks for a nice one around $500. Seems to be either really cheap ones or expensive ones. Set up a deal alert and keep checking your notifications.

Thanks for the advice. We're in the same price range, I'll think we'll find some good stuff when more ryzen 4000 series laptops start rolling out over the next few weeks.
I like that this one has 16GB memory and 512GB SSD. Seems tough to find that in these Lenovo laptops. Our maybe it's just tough to find that with the Ryzen 4000 laptops.

I'd buy this one at this price.
