10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

Very weird. I cancelled my TV and phone service with them a few months ago to ween myself from them and to cut the cable. At the time, I gave them the opportunity to lower my bill on TV and internet. I must have talked to them 7 or 8 times. They did nothing. I called 10 minutes ago and told them that it's ridiculous that I'm paying $100 a month for the service that new customers get for $49.99 and will pay $69.99 ($30 less than what I pay now). She lowered it and said the others did not handle this properly. I now pay $49.99 for 12 months and $69.99 after that!!!!!

No fiber where I live, but this deal allowed me to get out from under the only other ISP I have available to me. Been with the other ISP for 4 years and was no longer eligible for promotional pricing. Now I can use AT&T for a few years until their rates force me to switch. Even though I don't have fiber, my speeds increased from 50/6 (down/up) to 95/20 and I'm paying about $10/mo less. Good deal. No install fees plus $200 in GC.

Used my AT&T $100 gift card to pay my internet bill I paid $51.0 (on April 24) on my $50.12 bill then a week later I made a $49 payment just to use up the card. Both times I received an AT&T payment confirmation e-mail.

Tried a second chat and after 2 F'n hours! I was told nothing she could do & call this number 800-288-2020.

Back when I was having problems with their DSL product, they said hold tight, they'll be rolling out wireless internet. Does this mean that is gone, and they are going fiber?

FWIW, I prefer hardwired over wireless any day

Here I'm right by SFO within 15 minutes; I've been checking when they're gonna have an Internet Carrier with Fiber available for the past 10 years...nada nothing, zil.
Pretty ridiculous to know that I live about 45 minutes away from silicon valley, and I get no fiber speed internet.

Somethings are very backward here in the US. I have friends in South Korea... very good internet speed... fiber or T1 speed for many years. Even in China, village people have much better internet speed than us here...

The telecoms we have AT&T, Comcast, Verizon...etc... for whatever reason, are so slow in building their infrastructure...

Now we hear how Huawei has the most affordable 5G technology network, yet getting bashed from the Trump Admin for political reasons... I'm not going to delve into politics here, but as a consumer, I want cheap affordable/reliable and fast internet speed for today's technology needs. Some one asked if I'm afraid of the Chinese gov't spying on my internet usage. I said, "NO!" why would I be afraid? I have nothing of value that the Chinese gov't needs. what? they going to find out what I shop, where I go, and what kind of porn sites I visited? Go for it. I don't care. I'm a straight guy and I have nothing to hide.

My internet footsteps have been traced and spied by our existing American companies and gov't agencies already; the facebook, google, amazon. Don't forget NSA (eric snowden) has been spying on regular US citizens and others globally for years. Am I afraid? NO! I have nothing to hide.

Give me fiber internet speed now!
Huawei, sure. Give me 5G speed now.
Get the politics out; put common sense in!

(sorry for the rant... see what happens when I've been suffering with low internet speed all these years?)Frown

Last time I saw this deal they were requiring a hard credit check. Is there still no way around a credit check? Like a deposit or something?

I called them and ask if they can apply the promotional code the rep said you can either get giftcard or the 49.99 rate ..IDK if this is the case for everyone
