10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

The only way to opt out is by talking to a specialist over the phone, so you will be less able to stack promotions as you might online. Try, though! I still got $200 in gift cards, but not the cash back site offer, obviously. I was a former AT&T wireless customer, so I had a record in their system of good payments. This may or may not have been a factor.

not sure why even need credit check on internet only plan with no contract. Xfinity lets you bypass this with autopay even with contracts when you sign up online doesn't even ask for social security number.

i mean, why? att will get you a new gateway if you ever go past 1gbps speeds.

Because it's free and it's faster than my 7 year old router. I thought SD is all about free stuff.

You can get 600ish Mbps on WiFi which is pretty good to me. I heard the newer iPad Pros can get even higher wifi speeds. I use Ethernet for anything serious.

im an early fiber adopter and haven't paid a rental fee. recently jumped on the $39.99 plan bundled with my grandfather att tv plan. pretty much paying $75 for 1g fiber and att tv. so far so good.

probably moving in a few months and worried im going to lose my grandfather discounts lol
