I ordered last week with a monitor, 100 dollars gift card, and the same plan as OP said.
The increase for tv the second year is a deal breaker for us right now, we decided on the fiber and added paying no contract for Hulu + live tv for now. Att fiber gives you hbo max included... so about$140ish per month no contracts.

Instead of 1Gbps it changed to 100 and limit to 1TB data.
with two $10 CR for 12 months and $100 reward card.

When I called they told me this is the best they have available at the moment because there is no ATT fiber in my area
Anyone in same situation?
I may need to cancel later today. What a pain.

BeFrug is a scam. They dont pay sometimes. Especially on high value cb such as this. TCB is not perfect either but if I have to choose between the two I recommend TCB
you can use their gateway in a passthrough mode and this allows you to use your own router. Their gateway is used for some sort of authentication. it's really dumb. no other fiber provider requires this.
I wanted to bypass my ISP's gateway/router (not the ONT), so after they connected my house to their fiber system and confirmed it worked as designed, they left. I then connected my router directly to the ONT instead, bypassing their gateway, but it didn't work. I later learned that I needed to spoof the MAC address (as if my router was actually theirs). This worked, and it has been flawless ever since.
All that to say, yes, it might be possible to eliminate their gateway, but I probably did need it to originally setup the system. Knowing AT&T, even if you needed it just once, they'd probably want to continually pop you for it.
You can spoof it and give your modem the same name but you would need there's initially to get the address to spoof.
I got the fee for gateway rental dropped for 1 year by upper tier customer service.
