Tesla has reduced the price of the Model S, Model 3, and Model X in North America.

Model S and X both saw $5,000 price cuts to $74,990 and $79,990 respectively for their entry-level Long Range Plus versions, while their more expensive Performance versions have also been cut by $5000.
Model 3 has received a smaller $2,000 price cut across all versions, with the online entry-level Standard Range Plus Model 3 now starting at $37,990. It's a new lower price for the vehicle – though Tesla has an "off-the-menu" version of the Model 3 starting at $35,000 with fewer options.
Pricing for the Model Y, Tesla's newest car, is unchanged.

If you're looking for a deal, the standard range model 3 is about 35k.

They removed free super charging for model S and X to slash prices.

Tesla is going to announce new long range battery soon, that cloud be reason for these price cuts.

Tesla desperate cause they realize no one is running out to buy an electric car with gas prices as low as they are and the government rebates expired.

maybe only tree-huggers will

Expect larger price cuts coming
The larger price cuts in the future will have more to do with lower battery costs (which is a heavy cost in electric cars). Tesla is going to be taking over in the short future. Gas prices being low is great but Tesla will soon be price competitive with many of these gas cars and more superchargers are established. This is coming from someone who thought Tesla was a joke years ago. Sorry but Tesla will force carmakers to start going more electric very soon. They already are, anyways.

bruh, nobody is buying any cars at the moment. Every auto manufacturer is in the shitter in terms of overall sales.

Tesla sales are actually up YoY%, but not from previous quarter. For example, Ford was down -12.5% in Q1, Tesla was up nearly 25% from Q1 2019.

I don't expect that continued with everything being shutdown into Q2. But your analysis is a little off base.

Those cars are not worth that price. Even with gas at 4 dollars it is cheaper to buy gas ones. Its more about environment. But unless prices arer brought down it will not be good Market for electric cars.
Other car companies are going to kill tesla and I think Elon Musk is feeling it.

I guess you haven't looked at vehicle prices lately? 35k is a steal.

Lol, it's the other way around: Musk is going to be killing other car companies. You're not even looking at this in the right way. Tesla is more than a car company. It's going to be an ecosystem for driving a car. Electric cars are already growing every year. Newer technology will have a higher initial cost for early adopters so of course the cost will be higher. The first car available to the public was probably only for the wealthy... now, everyone owns 2-3 cars. Over time, you will be driving a tesla. Book it.
