But if you don't understand what "Samsung B-die" even means, please don't bother threadcrapping with "but I found this other Ram with same MHz and CL16 for cheaper!" or "32x2 with CL18 cost only 40 more!"
This is a good deal for what it is.
Whether or not Samsung B-die is "worth it", or whether overclocking RAM "is worth it" in general is a different argument, and there's plenty of fun to be had taking that to places like reddit. There are certainly intermediate options like Micron E die that review as quite solid but still not with quite the OCing reputation as higher binned B-die (personally I recently bought some Crucial Ballistix that are Micron E die and well reviewed and hit XMP no problem and totally stable, because I don't care about trying to do max OCs/etc, but will probably tune a bit tighter on timings). But then you get people cluelessly posting Hynix C die as if it's all the same thing: it's not.

Listed as B-Die ram on:

These are awesome. Reps OP.
One may get to 3733 CL14, or 3800 CL16, and if you're fortunate 3800 CL15 or 14.
If you need only 16GB the Viper Steel 4400's are similar but are a little more pricey per GB (Newegg today only for 125).
So I'm going to go from 4x8gb to 2x16gb.

For someone looking to build a new rig, I don't understand that difference between these sticks, and whatever basic Corsair 2x16GB DDR 3200 plain-ol' sticks I can grab off amazon for $155.
Could someone point in the direction of a spec sheet or comparison site so that I might better understand the value of these sticks? - or is it just the clock speed that makes for such a drastic price jump?
For reference, running an i5 4690k (OC'd at 4Ghz, watercooled) with 16GB DDR3 @ 1600mhz on a MSI z97-g41. Waiting for the b550's to hit the market before pulling the trigger on any parts, but since that's soon, figure it's about time to learn!

am i missing something or are these the same?
i hate how invisible this decision is though. i totally appreciate what you're saying and fully understand it but i'd rather be exposed to these decisions by G.Skill marketing these parts differently. It looks 1000% the same product, except it's more expensive than what i bought. I would have liked to see the description reflect the decision point.
oh, and speaking of sports cars and 381HP 4x4 Slickness, i've got 382 so take that. lol
