Yes, you're going to need a receiver/amp. They are not going to drive themselves.

if you just want the bookshelves, you could get away with Lepai type $20 amplifiers. But you'd probably want a receiver.

I have the 263s and the big center channel. They sound amazing!! They run circles around my polk 5.2 setup upstairs. If you are on the fence just pull the trigger you won't be sorry.

Do some googling and educate yourself. A stranger can't tell you what the right set-up is for YOUR needs, tastes, environment and budget, etc.

unless you just want mono sound, you probably want to get another R263.

This is great to hear! I've been looking at comparisons to the JBL 590s (which I own). Looking to see if the R263s will inevitably replace them.

I read that wrong, or quoted the wrong post. I was talking about the R253 I already have, vs the R263 I ordered.

I could be totally wrong about this, but if you have bits and pieces of this line and are thinking about upping to the towers or filling in other gaps in your kit, I wouldn't screw around about it much longer.

Bits and pieces are missing from each round of sales now, the good center isn't even listed right now. Historically this means they may be drying up... and I'm skeptical that we'll see another run or a similar value from Infinity/Harmon. These are arguably leftovers from the old Harmon being cleared out. It's hard to predict perfectly but they aren't keeping items available like they used to. Once they're gone you'll be stuck looking on ebay or other channels.

During the last sale, at the end of 2019, I bought the RC263 and settled on the R253.
