Please do not make baseless statement.
The masks meet YY/T0969-2013 (China) and EN 14683 I (EU) standards, both requiring >95% BFE.

Your "pls do not stmt..." would b sound if those standards u listed is Noish standard.

Still BYD mask is still one of the few better budget option in the market right now.

I'd suggest anyone who wants to try these out buy only one to make sure your fitment. For me they leak terribly from both sides.

This YouTube video shows how to stop leaks at the side

There's also good info using 3 rubber bands in this video

The masks would cost considerably more if they meet the N95 standard. For your reference, the N95 masks California purchased from BYD cost $3.3/each (300 million masks for $1b).
Here is a correction, the EU standard printed on the box is EN 14683 TYPE II, not TYPE I. I found it out when looking at the box in Costco, instead of peeping at a photo. That standard is nearly equivalent to USA ASTM Level2, sans splash resistence.

Specs do not appear to say: https://www.byd.care/pages/face-mask
BYD has surgical IIR grade masks and cheap civilian masks.
These appear to be the cheaper civilian masks.
The masks I got on my site are 95> BFE
But I also have level 2 tested Nelson labs and 99% BFE/PFE if anyone wants to get higher quality ones
www.protectly.co if you want to get the surgical grade ones

NIOSH is only for respirators and not related to Surgical Masks, all US surgical masks have to be at min 95%, 98% for level II and III

Nobody mentioned these BYD masks has to meet N95 standard.
Just don't give ppl false hope about the protective level of these mask with foreign standard.

The post was in reply to your post 'Your "pls do not stmt..." would b sound if those standards u listed is Noish standard.

Your post mentioned Noish standard, which brought up the topic on N95 standard.
Those foreign standard are good match to US ASTM standard, especially EN 14683 type II. My post was to answer people's questions on BFE, PFE etc, which is helpful to people in choosing masks.

go search surgical mask/ respirator cdc

and since you mentioned level II level III

ASTM is the international standard that is used for surgical mask

I mentioned NIOSH as an example and a standard worth mentioning since it is US standard and its standards are being enforced without adding any recent Geo-political, supply of materials, quality of materials factors.

I think our conversation has been a little off topic for this thread.

Just make it clear, I think these BYD masks is a good deal for general usage but not for any serious settings.

I bought two boxes for my retired buddy. He is happy with the quality.

Who makes your KN95s and where are the certification sheets (I might have missed the link)?

ASTM is not an international standard. It is an American standard. ASTM = American Society for Testing and Materials.

Some international products or tests do cite ASTM standards because we're so damn good in the US at creating these industry standards, but generally countries will create or adopt standards into their own standards for their own legal requirements.

It's much like NIOSH's N95. You see a lot of masks made overseas falsely labeled as N95 because the world generally trusts that N95 rating even if they are in the EU. The same thing goes with ASTM standards. People trust those standards, but I doubt you will find South Korea or Chinese law for instance requiring their hospitals use ASTM standards. They have their equivalent standards or similar standards at least.
