Just read a news release when I was trying to find some product info:

June 16th, 2020

Guangzhou Powecom Labor Insurance Supplies Co., Ltd appoints www.bonafidemasks.com , a division of Ball Chain Mfg. Co., Inc. as the new premier distributor for our FDA Authorized KN95 mask products in the USA.

FDA Appendix A: Authorized Imported, Non-NIOSH Approved Respirators Manufactured in China (Updated: June 17, 2020) [fda.gov]

The unit price isn't cheap: $2.4 each and shipping fee is kind of high: around $14 per order via UPS ground, although you can order more to cut down both unit price and shipping cost per unit.

However, this may be the first time we know we can get a quality KN95 on FDA authorization list from a trustful vendor which is endorsed by manufacturer.

I ordered these for $29.99 a few weeks ago. I emailed them for a refund of the price difference (price is now $22.99) and they responded it within a few min. Waiting for the refund.

Thank you so much for the information. I only asked because I may have to leave my home at the end of this month for nursing school purposes (drug test at Lab Corp) and fingerprinted (at a ups store). My driver's license also expires next month and I have to go in person to renew it and take a new picture which mean my mask has to come off. I'm very worried and may end up not doing any of it. I live in Florida which is why I'm so worried, especially having to take my mask off in a tax collectors office for a few seconds.
Not sure if you did this yet, but I had th same problem and went to renew my license and they said I needed a passport and/or birth certificate so it was a waste of time. I hated exposing myself since half the people weren't wearing proper masks, or wearing them correctly. I basically had to rely on my own to protect me. Had to make another appointment and the next they had was the end of August.

Bring you birth certificate, if you haven't gone already.

Made in China with a pinch of Covid dust sprinkled on. No thanks.

100% Made in USA 3M N95 NIOSH approved. Bough 3 boxes in February, running low now and rationing.
We have a lot more covid here than they do in China now. Also, these actually performed as well as 3m in the media test. 3M was 98% on average and these were 99%.

I bought from Office Depot, $22.99, no sales tax. Also Office Depot offers free next business day delivery. I'm in California, so I'd rather get free next day delivery than order from Bona Fide Masks, which ships from New York I believe? Correct me if I'm wrong.

If they were that good hospitals and the government would be buying it. These are trash. The are not even on the CDC's approved list of KN95 or N95 masks.

Completely incorrect.

"Guangzhou Powecom Labor Insurance Supplies Co., Ltd."

These actually tested better than 3M's competing mask, at an average of 99% efficiency in multiple tests with 30 samples per test.

I still don't quite understand the filtration percentages. From what I can tell, they are just testing what the material itself is capable of filtering, i.e., assuming a perfect seal to the face. But don't account for the large leaks the occur since these masks don't sit nearly as tight or well-fitting as N95s.

^^^ You just have to work to get the best seal you can, with ear savers or similar if necessary. Everyone's face is different. You can get leakage with N95s, too, if you don't work on fit/seal!

Price at Office Depot has gone up to $22.99. Price at Bona Fide Masks still $22.90 for earloops; price for headbands now $29.00. Use coupon code SAVE5 to get 5% off right now on either earloops or headbands at Bona Fide Masks.

I understand, but the reality is the N95s are dramatically easier to obtain a good fit. I've tried several KN95 brands, and I like them, but there are still pretty obvious leaks despite significant effort to reduce them. For this reason I find the filtration percentages advertised for them to be misleading, and wish there was a metric to account for average leakage that would be more realistic.

why are people still bringing up n95 masks like they could get their hands on them? Why are people bringing up leakage for the kn95 when it is 1000% better than any cloth or surgical mask? Do people have another magical alternative to the powecom kn95? I would like to know

https://smartairfilters.com/en/bl...n95-masks/

For KN95 GB2626-2006 standard, it supposed to allow <= 8% leakage (Total inward leakage (TIL)). That's why buying authentic KN95 is very important since fake one unlikely pass any of the real KN95 GB2626 testing.

As for surgical mask inward leakage, I saw some number before which is about 18% to 32% TIL. So potential fake KN95 could have as much total inward leakage as surgical mask.
