T-Mobile Offer: Existing Single-line or New Customers: Get a 3rd Line Expired

From Friday, 6/26 - Monday, 7/6, new and existing T-Mobile customers will be able to get one free voice line in-store or via T-Force (T-Mobile on, Facebook Messenger, @TmobileHelp on Twitter, T-Mobile via iMessage). Please note that this thread is a duplicate that the moderators refuse to merge. There is not an additional free line deal going on with T-Mobile.


New customers:
Must activate 2 voice lines. Third voice line will be free.

Current customers:
If you have at least 2 paid voice lines, you are eligible to get a free voice line on a qualifying plan, including Simple Choice, ONE and Magenta. Exclusions will apply, including discounted plans (military, first responder, 55+ and T-Mobile ONE All-In Promo plans) not being eligible. Taxes and fees may apply depending on your existing plan. This may include a SIM or activation fee that may be waived later via chat.

The best way to go about getting this promotion is through T-Force.

Some reps however are still referencing the old promo that ended Thursday, 6/25 and saying you need to add two voice lines on top of your existing two voice lines. This is incorrect. Refer to Doc 20Q23 if they say this or are denied the promo and you see your plan is eligible. The list of eligible SOC plans can be found in the FAQ below.

In general, T-Mobile like any other carrier offers different types of lines, even though technically everything is software configurable.

• Voice lines (to be used in a phone) with associated data capacity - this is what this promo offers - You add a line to your account that inherits the "line" features of your account plan
• Mobile Internet lines - tablets and hotspots
• Wearable lines - smart watches

These lines are not interchangeable. You cannot trade/convert a "voice" line into a tablet or wearable. One exception: The associated data of a voice line may work in limited/reduced capacity when placed into a tablet or hotspot (2G/3G max)

• How do I get this deal?
  Easiest, but not necessarily the quickest way is through T-Force. T-Force is T-Mobile's elite customer service reps that work on their social media sites and are accessible via chat on Facebook and Twitter (@tmobilehelp). They can also be contacted via iPhone iMessage. To do this, search T-Mobile on your iPhone, scroll down to Business and click the messages icon next to T-Mobile. Alternatively, you can call 611. Make sure to reference Doc 20Q23
  
• Does this work for Simple Choice plans?
  Yes, but not every Simple Choice plan qualifies. • How do I look up my SOC code?
  If you want to know what your SOC code is, login using a web browser so you are looking at your account. Be sure to enable "Web Console". (FireFox --> Menu --> Web Developer --> Web Console) Pop over to the Network tab and look for an XHR request to "Subscriber".

  For your plan code view in Chrome:
  1. View>Developer>JavaScript Console. Then tap Network tab then XHR tab.
  2. Then go to the main T-Mobile account homepage (the magenta square with white T in the upper left…or refresh it if already there).
  3. In the Java window, single-tap Subscriber (or type it in the Filter search tab if you can't find it, then single-tap Subscriber)
  4. Tap Response tab (if not already selected). In that long string, you will find the plan and socCode.

• What are some of the stipulations with this?
  As long as you are on a plan that qualifies and have at least two paid voice lines, this is what one SD user BongH was told by a T-Mobile rep: "There is no trade, no additional lines needed, you just add the line. You wouldn't be able to cancel any lines for one year after adding that line and then after that year, you have to have two paid lines outside the free line to keep the promo going."
  
• Does this affect corporate discount (like they may remove the corporate discount)?
  Discounted plans (military, first responder and 55+) are not eligible. But eligible plan w/ corporate discount may be ok based on SDer posts. Search "Corporate" in this thread to find those posts.
  
• For people with 2 paid lines and 1-3 free promo lines already, can they get this additional free line?
  Yes, you can depending on the plan you are on.
  
• I ordered through T-Force X amount of hours ago. When will I see this on my plan?
  Due to the popularity of this promotion, it may not show online until 24-48 hours from the time your new SIM is shipped. If your account doesn't require a new SIM, it may still take up to 48 hours to see the changes reflected online.
  
• Does this stack with any device promotions?
  Yes, however each device promotion has specific requirements and your plan may not be compatible with the device promotions however. Check T-Mobile.com or contact T-Force for specific device promotions.

I agree with the red text above, I had to switch from All-in to Essential (Magenta will also work) to get the free line, but I am fine with losing HD video and some international features.

Adding my 2 cents here. I'm in a position to have contact with a large group of store employees from around the country, and can confirm that this offer is a free line, no strings attached (aside from assisted support charge and sim fee) for any postpaid account on the Magenta, Essentials, Tmo ONE, and Simple Choice plans. Simple Choice has a set of limitations for their accounts (see above which SOC's qualify). The T-Mobile ONE All-in plan is not eligible. For all other plans, you should be able to just simply add a free line to your account if you have at least 2 lines and less than 12 lines. I have no idea what an "all-in-one" ONE plan that red text above is talking about. It appears the red text above means "T-Mobile ONE All-in" plan, which is the 2/$100 Tmo ONE plan. It is indeed not eligible, but all other Tmo ONE plans should be.

iPhone 11 info:
The current iPhone 11 deal requires a port AND trade-in. There was a promo that expired yesterday which DID NOT require porting in a number. It seems some people who added the free line early this morning were talking with reps overseas who could still see that promo. I added my free line around noon Eastern and the rep said the new iPhone 11 promo (up to $700 credit with trade-in) requires a port. I'm likely moving one of my parents over to this free line from Tello anyway, so I said that's fine. I added the free line and ordered a 128 GB iPhone 11 which is $750. Was told I'd get $114 upfront with my trade in and the rest of the $700 would be spread across 24 months as bill credits once we ported in a number on that free line. With all the prepaid services out there, it'd be pretty easy to start service and then port that number into TMo if someone really wanted the iPhone 11.
