Crossrope has a clearance deal on open box jump ropes. These ropes sell for used for nearly their original price on Ebay. These are premium ropes where the rope has the weight (not just the handle). I've wanted these for a while and they never go on sale (except for their 'fake' sale that's $10 off the individual sets and $40 off the bundle for both sets and is regularly running). From their site:
Our open-box ropes and handles were purchased and returned by previous customers. Some of the ropes have been lightly used on indoor surfaces and have light scuff marks from brief use (not as pictured). All open-box items have been inspected and certified to be in good working condition. All open-box ropes and handles are offered at a discount and are FINAL SALE. Coupons cannot be applied. No returns or exchanges can be processed.
The Get Lean kit ($60 now, but regularly $99) includes:
2020 Slim Handles - new and improved
1/4 LB Jump Rope - great for endurance + HIIT workouts
1/2 LB Jump Rope - great for beginners + advanced cardio
Carry Pouch - for easy rope storage
Free access to Crossrope Lite
The Get Strong ($84 now, but regularly $140) kit includes:
2020 Power Handles - new and improved
1 LB Heavy Rope - great for high intensity strength workouts
2 LB Heavy Rope - great for full-body workouts
Carry Pouch - for easy rope storage
Free access to Crossrope Lite
If you bought both, then it would be $145, where the Get Fit Kit would be $200 for a new set (assuming the $40 coupon on a new set). I ordered the Get Strong bundle and shipping was free. You need to pick the size ropes you want based on your height.

I just watched a couple reviews on YouTube. Seems like a good deal to me.

For people who can do advance tricks and double unders, regular licorice ropes are better.
The ball bearing spins too well. Too effortlessly.
You don't need much effort to jump with these ropes, which kind of defeats the purpose of the jump roping.
Then, you add more weight to the rope, but that doesn't necessary translates to a better workout. The weight of the ropes limits the speed and responsiveness.
Maybe my light weight rope was too light and heavy weight too heavy, but I don't have to play Goldilocks with licorice ropes.

I really just need a very long spool of the rope itself, I have plenty of handles from replacing snapped ropes. Does anyone know of a source? I searched aliexpress but could not find anyone sell it.
EDIT: Found some places online that sell spools of jumprope. I wonder if this stuff is just electrical wire that's been repurposed?

Can't you just buy a spool of vinyl coated wire? You would need a small guage
I don't feel as bad spending $49.40 for the Get Lean Set.
