Have been looking at 5.1 or 7.1 Hotpoints - SKU #'s 1416444 or 1416445

Just got home from Lowes with the Hotpoint 7.1 cu ft Chest Freezer for $219 [lowes.com]

It was the last one at my nearest store.... $269 list, on sale for $219 = $208.05 after the Lowes card discount.

Hotpoint 7.1 at Brickseek [brickseek.com] seems to be fairly accurate for this item in my area...

For 72015, Bryant was low / now shows Out of Stock after my purchase... Russellville had 10 yesterday, now 2.

Other chest freezers available around here are the Hotpoint 5.1 cu ft for $179 (reg $239) [brickseek.com]

the Midea 8.8 cu ft for $349 [brickseek.com]

and the Whirlpool 15 cu ft for $499 (reg $569) [brickseek.com]

Nothing in my area as usual for the past few months. Best Buy has had their 3.5 and 7 ft in stock off and on more frequently than Lowes so check their app daily.

I bought the 7.1 Hotpoint back in April for the same price. Brickseek showed everyone OOS, just like now for me. I needed one, so I thought I would go to individual stores to see if one might be ordered.

Lowe's is strange in that two different Lowe's said none available for order but a third location, the appliance guy said he saw a "new shipment" being formed but it was his experience that none of them would make it to the store. He said I could order it and I would get it next week.

It's strange because he said that it was NOT a special order, but he was piggybacking onto an existing Lowe's order, but for me, it would be the same as a special order if I paid for it now. I did and it came in on Wed the next week. My point is, if you really want one, you might try that way because there was nothing available online, back then then either.

That said, the 7.1 Hotpoint is nice. It has a nice door seal, kind of like a refrigerator door seal, unlike many of the freezers with a solid groove design. No complaints. It's extra quiet. You can't ever tell it's on. It comes with one wire basket that sits on top. I like the wire basket so much, I ordered 3 more. You can place 4 of the wire baskets across the top which make separating small items from the larger meat cuts below, very nice and convenient.

If you are interested, look for the GE basket model WR21X10218. This is identical to the one which comes with the unit. The same basket model is used for other freezers, so don't freak out if your freezer model is not on the list of freezers being shown.

As a reference, Amazon has it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 but you can find it at other retailers.

About the best price I have seen for these is circa $20ea. If you can find one cheaper, snap it up..

Edit: One final note. I was NOT able to get military discount on it. The guy said it was "on sale," so the system would not allow him to add the extra 10%.

Got one in owings mills, md. Brickseek says 2 in stock. The staff only found 1 in the back. The other one is probably display model hiding somewhere. I missed the Costco and Sams Club $170 deals (also 7 cu) back in March. This is more expensive but I'm just glad I have a freezer for this summer. I think most of the stores will restock in August. Thanks OP and repped.

Two weeks ago my main Refrigerator died and these freezer chests are no where to be found. Called several Lowes and found Midea in one store and ran up quickly to get it. That was the last one.

This pandemic has forced people to stock up while the supplies from China are not coming fast enough. So ya, if you need one, and you find one.. get it...

Just ordered one yesterday from my Lowe's in Cincinnati, Ohio. The guy said it take two weeks to get them in. None in stock even though Brickseek said they had 4.

Yep. Luckily we already had a freezer, but some model fridges were backordered for 2 months.

So you can order in store if they run out of it? Did you get the sale price - when will the sale end? thanks

FWIW, I saw a boxed 7.1 sitting in the Aisle of my local Walmart a few days ago.

I don't remember if it was the RCA 7.1 at Walmart [walmart.com] - = - Brickseek [brickseek.com]

or the Hisense 7.0 at Walmart [walmart.com] - = - Brickseek [brickseek.com]

That one particular store shows to have both - and is the only store anywhere near me that shows to have either.

Oh yeah. If you've bought any Smithfield products, for example, they probably came from China. The hogs are raised here, butchered & the meat sent there to be processed & sent back here.

Ginger, garlic is also coming from Chyena. That guy may not even know what's in the lunch/dinner plate.
