Xbox One controllers will be compatible with Series X in case that was the concern.
I think it's more of a comment that hits on the fact that the new controllers will be an upgrade from the current standard controllers yet be a downgrade from the series 2 pro controller. I'm in the same boat, sort of. I purchased the series 2 from Costco, but will bring it back when the series X comes out.
Already had 2 warranty repairs. Same exact thing... wouldn't go up on the left digital stick.
Beautiful controllers, but get a warranty.
Don't need warranty when purchased at Costco. Have membership? Then you have a great "extended" warranty already. It's one of the reasons ppl like purchasing certain things there. Was waiting in line at customer service one day, someone was bringing back a 5 year old mattress. No questions asked. They got a new one.

They have different "return" policies for electronics. Has anyone actually gotten an improperly functioning Elite Controller exchanged or otherwise taken care of at Costco?
Serious question, what exactly make these controllers 3x the price of a regular controller? Is the response time quicker?
I'm addicted to the paddles underneath. Ability to map any button to those is nice. Weight and overall "feel" is a huge difference. Trigger pull. Can't go back to a regular controller.
Also, this will still work with the next gen Xbox and probably still better than the controller they pack in.
If you want a warranty, I'm getting mine from square trade. $30 for 3 years.
I bought 1 and return it for a new one because the first one was not working properly great return policy from Costco lifetime return. But not really worth it because after awhile they start to break bummer. Microsoft just needs to fixed this. Other than that great controller
FYI, the way around a membership is to have someone who had one buy you a gift card. It can be as little as $5. Gets you in the door, and you just pay the difference at checkout.
I have the series 1 and don't really want to upgrade. I'm not a fan of the non-removable batteries... I would prefer to be able to just pop out the batteries and put it new eneloops or something every time.

However if you went to some third party custom controller shop you'd probably pay quite a bit too.
