Not multiple of the same card. 1 Freedom Unlimited and 1 Freedom — yes.

If you get rejected sometimes there are errors in their automation side or just simply discrepancies. I have always called the reconsideration lines for credit agencies and sometimes even gotten approved over the phone.

At the least it will tell you why you got denied and it will be a learning experience. In this specific case: Always call laugh out loud
That's not how the offer reads:

Earn a $200 bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.* And earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including TargetĀ® or WalmartĀ® purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in the first year.*
Yes you are. The Chase Freedom and Freedom Unlimited are different cards. Go and apply for it! If you do, please use someone's referral link (they get $100) to share the wealth!

Bad? No! Someone is giving you garbage advice...

They're only bad if you are maxing-out the lines! Having many lines with a high amount of credit available and low utilization is a great thing!

The goal is to have as many lines as possible with very little balance on each so they do not close. Your credit will initially take a hit because your overall credit history will be lowered with each new opening...so best to open early on in your life!

Feel free to ping me if you need more information.

What about balance transfer? Can I use this for that?

For anyone that has done a product change from Freedom to Freedom Unlimited, were you able to keep the same card number since both are Visa?

How long does it take to get the bonus after you spent $500? Do you have to wait until the next statement?

You should call Chase. My guess is that the account number will not change and internally they will just code the card as Chase Unlimited. However, they might send you a new physical card with a different card expiration date.

For that you need the "Freedom Flex" World Elite Mastercard that also includes insurance for your phone.

Does the warranty protection available for a laptop purchased under the Chase Freedom VISA card lapse if one product changes it to the Chase Freedom Flex Mastercard?

As an example, for a laptop purchased with Chase Freedom on September 1, 2020, with a 1 year manufacturer warranty, the Chase Freedom card would extend the warranty by another year so the warranty would expire on August 31, 2022. Let's say, that on September 25, 2020, you product change the Chase Freedom card to the Chase Freedom Flex card and the laptop breaks down on February 1, 2022. Is the laptop covered under the extended warranty protection? And, if yes, under which card is it covered? The original Chase Freedom card (now closed) or the Chase Flex card?

Thank you.

Outside of stuff like targeted upgrade offers (to paid cards) you never get a signup bonus for a product conversion.
Knightsdale, would you be able to interpret this language from the Chase Freedom brochure and let me know if I product change to the Flex from the Freedom, whether a laptop purchased under the Freedom (before it is product changed) would apply? Thank you.

Only thing that matters is the card had the benefit when you made the purchase.

They could remove the benefit the next day entirely and you'd still be covered.

Likewise no longer holding the card doesn't change that either (no longer being a customer of the bank AT ALL may impact SOME banks benefits- but that's not relevant to the question here since you still have a chase card and I'm unaware of chase having a restriction like that off hand anyway)

The benefit is administrated by a 3rd party company that doesn't even ask you if you're a CURRENT cardmember.

The only relevance really is sometimes they ask for a copy of your statement showing you charged the item to the card- which you might not easily be able to pull up on a closed account, so grab a copy of that at time of purchase and save it somewhere.

First, thank you for your response!

Yes, I have made copies of everything. I guess I was concerned by the language that states, "The [extended warranty] benefit described in this Guide to Benefit will not apply to Cardholders whose Accounts have been suspended or canceled " and I assumed that "canceled" in the sentence here also implied product changes since technically, the card you are product changing from (Feedom VISA) is cancelled in a product change.
