Where are the TV guru's and experts, as well as those who already own this bad-boy? First time I've ever seen one with thousands of views and no opinions. ...Fine, I'll do my own research..

It is down to $399.99 at Best Buy now. Target too, but out of stock. I just ordered this for my parents.to replace an older 50" Sony XBR LCD. The height of their built-in TV wall unit was 35" so 60" was the largest we could go. Unlike the smaller TVs in this series, this one uses a superior VA panel (according to an LG answer) to the IPS panels that don't get good rtings.com reviews. This one also has 3 HDMI which is much better than the 2 that seems to be standard on cheaper TVs. They only watch TV on this anyways so not strenuously used.

Rtings says it has IPS and an RGBW panel which puts it at the very bottom of the barrel

You pointed me to a review of the 55" which I said used an IPS screen. I've seen this review already, that's why I avoided the IPS models.

The first paragraph of the article says: "The LG UN7000 is an entry-level budget TV that offers okay overall performance and has limited features. It's available in a wide range of sizes, and the larger models are sold as the LG UN7070. Most of the variants have IPS panels, including the 55 inch model we tested, but some sizes have VA panels, which are expected to perform differently."

So I read a question that was posed on Best Buy about how to determine which models used IPS vs VA and the LG responder said that the VA says "Real 4K Display" and IPS says "Real 4K IPS Display" on the LG website for this 70 series. Looks like 60 and 50" use VA and 65, 55 and 43" use IPS. It appears the LG site says IPS for those TVs that use it even in other lines.

The LG had a bad horizontal pixel line running right across it so it went right back for exchange to Best Buy today. Fortunately, they had one in stock at this location or it would have been an 35 minute drive to the next nearest one. The replacement is flaw free so far. Looks good for $400.
