Ingredients are hard to find on both amazon and gatorade's website, probably for a reason:
PROTEIN ISOLATE BLEND (PARTIALLY HYDROLYZED WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE, MILK PROTEIN ISOLATE), MALTODEXTRIN, ALMOND BUTTER (ALMONDS), WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE CRISP (WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, CORN STARCH), HONEY, TAPIOCA SYRUP, GLYCERIN, PALM OIL, FRUCTOSE, SLICED ALMONDS, CHIA SEEDS, NATURAL FLAVOR, SALT, PURIFIED STEVIA LEAF EXTRACT
Those look pretty good for a sub-$1 protein bar to me.

Reviews claim that it's either bland/bad tasting. It's also hard and chewy,

How are these compared to Bilt bars that were the rage on FP few months back? I have few still, only eat this type of food when on the go but does not hurt to stock up if it is on sale and edible lol.

Can anyone recommend a good protein bar that doesn't have whey or almonds?

To each their own I guess, but maltodextrin as the second ingredient sends me running away. Corn starch, honey, tapioca syrup: pure sugar
Palm oil: turrible, high saturated fats and highly processed.

Another time these were posted, someone mentioned the ratio of macros not being very good. Don't know what they are off hand but figured I would pass this along.

What's wrong with honey?

We went through a box last year. They grow on you. They are VERY filling, I could probably have one in the late morning and not eat again all day; for a long drive, one bar and I'm good for 10 hours! Initially they seem overly firm, but you get used to the texture. Bottom line, a unique, filling, and pretty good tasting protien bar.

They want you to think it's a silver bullet for a host of issues but IMO, and especially as a dried ingredient in a cereal bar, it's actually worse than table/cane sugar (50-50 glucose-fructose) and closer to high fructose corn syrup because of its high fructose content that goes straight to your liver if you're not immediately burning it through calorie deficit or exercise. And you can pretty much count on gatorade using the cheapest grade of honey there is.

I'm not super picky and have enjoyed all sorts of protein bars, chips, powders, and cookies. However, the taste and texture of these was incredibly bad IMHO. I think there is a reason they have 3.5 stars on amazon
