If I'm currently a free household member (card holder) under someone elses account, does that make me an "existing member" and ineligible for this deal?
I would like to know the answer to this also.

I am confused how this works

1. I purchased $60 groupon deal
2. I received $60 costco card with card number and pin
3. I opened costco.com and clicked on membership
4. Now I enter all my information and clicked on continue
5. This is where my confusion is. In payment method should I use the $60 costco card or should I use my visa card for auto renewal to be eligible for the goodies?

So for long story reasons I have BJ's, Sam's Club and Costco membership. I only keep BJ's due to work discount not as good since new owners last few years. I prefer Costco over Sam's club, more so since Sam's closed stores to use as e-commerce hubs. Hit Costco every other week, buy bottled water there, Frozen dumplings, periodic meats, and they have some great store brand products I like, and gas stations have great gas prices. Vendors also create special packages of their Brand name products For Costco and such stores. Yes, often supermarkets have better loss leader details but they do have deals I like quite often. You do have to be prepared for bulk buys quite often but to some extent, that is why you go there.
I saw someone mention NJ not needing a card and I am not from there but someone told me that NJ law says they have to sell to public as in Mass the liquor stores have to be open to public.

Here's how I did it...
  • Purchased the $60 Groupon Deal
  • Claimed/Redeemed it...
  • Went to Costco's page to fill out the membership information
  • Entered my Visa CC information
  • Selected to use the Costco Shop Card
    • At this point, my CC information got cleared out
  • I went and re-entered the CC information back in
  • I then was able to proceed forward and my CC got charged just the tax for the membership.
    • If you don't pay tax or get prompted to, then I believe you just move forward paying with the $60 Costco Card and go setup the auto renew immediately after creating the membership.

I have both Sam's Club and Costco memberships. Sam's has hit it out of the park with their curbside pick-up, which Costco does not offer.

You must use a Visa for auto renewal. I do not believe there is any other option in this case.

Nah. Try Sam's Scan and Go and you'll wonder why you're waiting in line at Costco.
that old Sams is better trope. They barely have any locations in the Bay area, for good reason.

When you enter the shop card, it removes your visa card. How can you sign up for auto renewal with the $60 shop card to pay for the membership?
Hi, once you redeem your voucher, if you were unable to enrol using a Visa card, you can go to the account details tab and enrol from there

Mine expired Sept 2019 -- usually you can't be a member for past 18 months to qualify for new membership promo

I know the terms state 4/1/20 as the cutoff for this one but anyone have a problem redeeming similar promos in the past with less than 18mo terms?

If you have problem with Groupon then LivingSocial also has it: https://www.livingsocial.com/deal...rship-2020 [livingsocial.com]
Anyone answer this? Same boat, expired end of Feb; would be more convenient to reopen that membership (costco visa still open) than do in wife's name; usually I'd just default to latter but deets do say anything before April is good...
