You still have to enter the store to get your membership card. They need to take a picture of you for your photo on the card.

You'll have to visit the store one time to get your initial card, however you won't have to travel far, as the gas stations are located in the parking lots of the actual stores. You can go straight to the service desk, get your card on the spot and walk right back out.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. And I know the stores are usually adjacent to the pump, and that's not the concern. The requirement of having to enter the store just to get the membership card is a burden. It would be nice if they can do this curbside ... LOL

On the plus side, the service desk at every Costco I've been to has been right inside the front door. It would be pretty difficult for them to take your photograph in favorable lighting conditions and print a membership card (hard plastic, so it requires special equipment) curbside. And you only have to do it once. It will probably take you less time than you'll be waiting in line at the pump.

I think you're right, it's prolly gonna be quick and easy. And if nothing goes, I can still use the membership with Instacart. They just need the number.

My mom constantly loses her Costco card and has to get a new one almost every time she shops there. I don't think it has ever taken her more than 5 or 10 minutes to do so. Costco can get pretty busy on weekend afternoons, so just try to avoid those times if you're really worried about a potential line at the service desk. Check out their snack bar while you're in there and you maybe pleasantly surprised. They have really good pizza and cheap prices on pop/hot dog combos.
