    The refurb is a better deal. One thing you lose is warranty from 3 years to 1 year. Doe anyone know how reliable these are? Usually, when it comes to laser printers, people prefer the new HPs or Brothers

    My Canons have been very reliable. First laser I bought maybe 10 years ago was Xerox, which had a Canon engine. It would have had over $1000 in service calls during warranty if it hadn't been covered. Real Canons (6 so far, I have businesses which use them a LOT) have given me no trouble.
