I had two hero 7 blacks go "bad" on me and was engaged in a 1.5 year fight with them over replacements on and off, only to find out that two out of three Samsung memory cards I bought off of Amazon as FP slick deals were fakes, and actually what caused my cameras to freeze, crash, fail to give me clear files at random. I felt like an idiot. I was so sure it was GoPro's fault.

Amazon gave me refunds for the cards even tho one was over a year old and I threw them in the trash.

Next memory cards I buy will be directly from Best Buy via price matching to Amazon.

That seems to be the best/safest solution.

Just adding two comments.

First, if you are already a gopro subscriber, they give you an additional discount on the camera. I am not, so I couldn't see what the discount actually was.

When you check out, they break out the subscription cost (49.99) separately from the bundle cost and ask you to acknowledge it. At first, I was confused and thought they were adding this to the total cost, but when I checked out, it wasn't added. I did have to pay tax, and 2-day shipping was free.

Glad they brought back the replaceable lens cover. That's the only thing i don't like about the Hero 8.

Why are they charging $55.47 tax on $418.95, that's over 13%, not going to happen.

usually the correct amount is what's billed to you, the amount on their website usually isn't what's charged to your card.

I did a little more research on their site and it looks like they charge on the full price instead on the sales price, don't think that's legal but they've been doing it.

this year sold on Facebook Marketplace. In this past I've used OfferUp a lot too. Got lucky! Sold a handful of accessories I didn't need anymore that I had bought at 50% off. Helped that I always keep original boxes and everything is in good condition.

I include $100 of accessories that I bought for 50 or less. Got amazing deal on gopro last year with AMEX Offer, etc. I sold that and accessories for literally more than I had paid. LOL

yes, since I was still in the free trial period of the subscribe deal I didn't lose anything, but the remaining 2 weeks of my free trial.

OK I have a monthly account, I may try to delete and see if I can get the year included now. I can't seem to checkout since it says I have an active subscription to plus, I canceled it but that doesnt seem to matter, I have 11 days left in the billing cycle and they don't cancel or prorate. I just dont know if it will matter even if I delete the account...

They charged me separately for the subscription $350 plus tax plus $55 for the subscription. Anyone else had the same problem?
