*** UPDATE -- free AAL ends COB Thursday, 9/24! ***

It appears that another T-Mobile "Line On Us" for existing customers is coming this Friday. No word on the duration of the promo. Voice lines only.

It also allegedly stacks with the prior free lines. I'll update with any cheap/free phone deals that may be available...

Look up your SOC code (pasted from prior deal thread -- can't create a Wiki for some reason):

How do I look up my SOC code?
If you want to know what your SOC code is, login using a web browser so you are looking at your account. Be sure to enable "Web Console". (FireFox --> Menu --> Web Developer --> Web Console) Pop over to the Network tab and look for an XHR request to "Subscriber".
you'll see your SOC Code in the Response section. For example, here is the relevant section:

````
{
"ratePlan": {
"name": "Simple Choice North America 10GB Family Match Promo",
"planType": "SIMPLECHOICE",
"socCode": "10SFM2LN"
}
}
````

You need to be on the "home" URL when you enable the tools. I've attached a screenshot that shows (circles) all of the areas you should be at or click to ensure you can see the SOC Code. Sorry if this is too complicated - just trying to share info.

For your plan code view in Chrome:
View>Developer>JavaScript Console. Then tap Network tab then XHR tab.
Then go to the main T-Mobile account homepage (the magenta square with white T in the upper left…or refresh it if already there).
In the Java window, single-tap Subscriber (or type it in the Filter search tab if you can't find it, then single-tap Subscriber)
Tap Response tab (if not already selected). In that long string, you will find the plan and socCode.

Hmm my plan SOC isn't on the list. Is that the complete list or if I talk to them tomorrow my plan might also work?

No, the SOC list is all inclusive. If your plan is not on the list, you are not eligible for the free line.

if you used a 20% from the last month and a half, correct. If you got hookup in december or back in 2017 you can.
Does this mean if I have the 20% hookup from 2017 on my account, I can stack another 20% hook up tier 1 discount code by using the free line via port?

So, planning on adding the free line tomorrow but not ready to do the Iphone promo. Can this be done early next week? I just spoke to a rep who told me I only had 24 hours to take advantage of any add a line phone promos - but seems like it was longer than that on the July add a line promo.

They were not clear when discussing this topic but they are referring to the $200 hookup code for 5g phone.
You obviously can't stack the 20% hookup code as they are the same code. Also the 20% requires new account.

If you get a competent rep, he/she can re-assign the *paid line number* to the *free line number* and put the *paid line* in 'suspended mode with a temp number' while the transition occurs. Once done, he/she cancels the *paid line*

I've done this, but it took me nearly a month to finally get a rep who knew exactly how this done w/o screwing up your account.
Wow, any tip on how to find such a rep?

I've talked to a few already, all saying transferring the old number would cancel the previous line immediately. Haven't heard anyone could do the 'put it in suspended mode with a temp number' dance.

I posted this in the other T-Mobile thread regarding the third line on us promotion available today but wanted to tap into the expertise of everyone here.

I have 3 lines on the FRLTUL2LP plan - two paid, one free - so no go on the free line promotions, including the one starting tomorrow.
Spoke with a rep today to inquire about switching to Magenta Plus. My general idea was to switch my lines to the Magenta Plus plan today - two paid and one free - which would allow me to be eligible for future free line promotions.
I was told that I could not do that - that the third line on us promotion is only for a new line or new customers.

Two questions - Does anyone know if that is accurate?
And since I am an existing customer and do not qualify for the hookup discount, is there a way to get an insiders discount? That is really the only way my idea works without greatly increasing my monthly fees. My rate would go up about $12 a month but would be worth it to be eligible for future free line promotions.

TIA.

I have, thus far, successfully eluded their BS fees!

Avoid going to the store. Just do it thru T-force, and let them know you have a new unactivated SIM (unless you don't in which case you'd need to pay the silly $10 charge.. )

If they force the $10 SIM fee, don't argue..pay it.. and call later ( once it ships ) to let them know you already had one and were charged anyway. You'll get a refund or, at the very least, a $10 credit towards your next statement.
