*** UPDATE -- free AAL ends COB Thursday, 9/24! ***

It appears that another T-Mobile "Line On Us" for existing customers is coming this Friday. No word on the duration of the promo. Voice lines only.

It also allegedly stacks with the prior free lines. I'll update with any cheap/free phone deals that may be available...

Look up your SOC code (pasted from prior deal thread -- can't create a Wiki for some reason):

How do I look up my SOC code?
If you want to know what your SOC code is, login using a web browser so you are looking at your account. Be sure to enable "Web Console". (FireFox --> Menu --> Web Developer --> Web Console) Pop over to the Network tab and look for an XHR request to "Subscriber".
you'll see your SOC Code in the Response section. For example, here is the relevant section:

````
{
"ratePlan": {
"name": "Simple Choice North America 10GB Family Match Promo",
"planType": "SIMPLECHOICE",
"socCode": "10SFM2LN"
}
}
````

You need to be on the "home" URL when you enable the tools. I've attached a screenshot that shows (circles) all of the areas you should be at or click to ensure you can see the SOC Code. Sorry if this is too complicated - just trying to share info.

For your plan code view in Chrome:
View>Developer>JavaScript Console. Then tap Network tab then XHR tab.
Then go to the main T-Mobile account homepage (the magenta square with white T in the upper left…or refresh it if already there).
In the Java window, single-tap Subscriber (or type it in the Filter search tab if you can't find it, then single-tap Subscriber)
Tap Response tab (if not already selected). In that long string, you will find the plan and socCode.

I'm on TMo ONE as well, receiving kickback; but iirc, you can't add kickback to new lines.
Yes you can I've done it a few times. Just about finding the right rep but it is a pain

It shows on the bill and everything looks great but it doesn't really come off.. it just deducts from the automatic credit for the free line so in reality no it doesn't take $ off. It is easy to complain and get $10 credit with chat because it does show kickback line any other line

So i have Tmobile One and added the free line yesterday. Basically to get the $250 i would have to buy a number from ebay, speak to rep and request to port that ebay number to the newly opened free line?

So anyone confirm if buying from ebay works.. do we have to worry about pre/post paid accounts?

Visited local T-mobile store, got a free line, and ported a Freeup mobile number over. In less than 30 minutes, the "2020 Line on US 2" already showed up in account with new ported number. One last step is to submit the rebate to get $250.
By the way, if you are not sure whether your porting phone number is qualify for $250 rebate, T-mobile store can quickly check it in their system.

Any specific requirement for port?

In order to get this, i need to open a account with Tmobile right? I am going to port ATT number to Tmobile with $250 BYOD Promo. Then get another line for Free. I should be able to port another line with this free line right? How does this free show up on bill? Employer pays for mobile data plan. Wondering if they are going to split the charges between the paid line and free line on the bill?

no. They just put in the number to the system to verify the number is qualified. For porting, they probably need your account number and pin number of it.

I have the T-Mobile One plan that was with taxes included etc. I can only add 8 voice lines and 5 mobile internet ones.

If I add a 9th line it will flip it to Magenta which is then not worth it unfortunately.
I added a 9th line to my TMO one plan just fine. Kept my one plus promo as well.

That's interesting earlier I was quoted that a 9th line would end up changing my plan to magenta

OK, I did this in store because my son wanted the phone (OP8) right away. How do I know that the line is really free and that I will get the 50% off in bill credits on the phone? Will it show it somewhere on my account?

The guy at the store is like "Its automatic, you just have to wait 1 to 2 billing cycles to see it." Somehow that just did not sound reassuring. On the upside, Tmobile did send me a text saying I am getting some sort of bill credits...I just can't find anything on my account.
It's automatic. And the fact that you got the text is a good sign. Give it a day or two and then look on your account online and the promotion should show up; it won't take multiple billing cycles. That must be a standard reply to make everyone be patient.

Where did "then get another line for free" come from? This free line promotion thread you're posting in is for existing customers, before 9/18, who had at least 2 paid lines (among other restrictions).

If you're new to T-Mobile, the best option available to you now is to open an account with 2 lines and get the 3rd line free. "LIMITED-TIME OFFER. Get a 3rd line FREE. When you join with 2 qualifying lines [t-mobile.com]."
