I took advantage of the free line that started on Sept 18th with a spare SIM card I already have. Tforce already assigned a phone number to the SIM card. I just bought an AT&T # from ebay to port in so wondering if I can still get the $250GC porting over the AT&T number? Should I contact Tforce to do the port in? Can I change the AT&T number at a later point in time?

The rebate just ask to select which line to file, which I select the new line. It did not ask for the port-in number.
You should only submit the rebate after porting in a number because you need to enter your port in number in the rebate instead of your new free line number. The rebate instructions explicitly says don't put in your temporary number (free line number that will be replaced by the permanent port in number). The reason is when T-Mobile reviews your rebate at a later date, they will no longer see your replaced new free line number; they will only see the ported in number.

This is on the rebate submission page:

"Bringing a phone number to T-Mobile? Please wait until your number is active on our network before continuing. The temporary number assigned to you at activation is not compatible with our promotions."

Thanks. That is TMO's Number Transfer Center. How did they verify you? Did they have to send you a confirmation code by SMS before starting the process? Since most of us are using porting numbers purchased from eBay, we cannot receive TXT messages until the number activated.
no verification. no text. i did not even put the sims in my phones. just asked sim number and phone numbers. all done in 14 mins for 4 lines

Cool, that simplifies the process.

I think you're right. Guess I'll have to contact TM to modify my rebate form.

for each ported number, you still have to pay the monthly fee, right? I have Magenta plus and each line added is $35 so doesn't make sense to get this offer .
Yes. But luckily for a ton of us, and likely yourself also with a Magenta Plus plan, T-Mobile is giving away a free line. Go check out the thread below, confirm your account qualifies (likely for Magenta) and just add a line and it'll be free. This offer expires tomorrow so add it today. This free line qualifies as a new line of service for the $250 Mastercard offer so you'd port in a number and sign up for the rebate from this thread.

I see. So you are flagged when trying to do this deal, due to your old Sprint account still in their system?

So if you haven't signed up for any other promotions (like a phone promotion) on that free line, you can take advantage of this offer on that line and avoid the $35/mo line cost. Otherwise some people seem to be signing up for accounts just to get $250/line and will cancel in 2 months (after paying 2 months of service) after they get their prepaid MC.

I didn't see any hard pull from Credit Karma when I checked the Equifax and TransUnion reports. Probably, they do a hard pull it through Experian because when I did the deal for my bae, she had to speak to a TMO credit analyst before the account was created. The credit analyst asked her about 5 questions from her credit report.

During the online ordering, simply got an error: You are still a Sprint customer...no other option after that.
