Now it's harder to decide whether to pick up this Omen or the Lenovo Legion on amazon for 999. The Omen only comes with 8gb, but easy enough to pick up another one.

I tried both and liked Omen both are almost same other than Omen is lighter & color keyboard backlight than Lenovo. I could not resist Omen as I got 1TB 16gb open box at steal price of $960 and 5% credit card cashback from usa bank, during last time deal!

There are 2 removable ram slots and you need 1.2v non xmp ram. Team ram from newegg worked for me upgraded to 32gb - 16x2 team group 3200 speed

For me this is a killer deal. I originally bought the Open Box - Excellent for $976.99, which I know isn't the best deal, but I really had to get a laptop sooner than later and I couldn't wait any longer. Now the open box is on sale for $849.99, which is pretty fantastic, IMHO. Apparently Best Buy won't price match open box items, so I have to order another Open-Box and return my current one. Once that one comes in, I'll stick in the 2x16GB TeamElite I ordered last week and the extra 512GB M.2 I have laying around.

I'm not a hardcore gamer. I wanted a laptop that is great for productivity (great screen and good battery life) and can also play games well. The Omen 15 Ryzen seemed to check all the boxes. My more expensive open box came in yesterday and I've been putting it through the paces. So far so good!

My Open Box showed 11 months of factory warranty remaining. I also used my Costco Citi Visa, so it "should" extend the warranty there as well.

So citi costco card gives extended warranty for non Costco purchases also?
