For everyone who keeps questioning the warranty information:

The boxes in the warehouse have an additional packet of warranty information attached to the boxes. (At least they do here locally.)

So even though the box is printed with a 3-year warranty on it, the additional information explains the extension of the 3 year warranty to 5 years.

(And yes, if you use the Costco Visa credit card, that tacks on an additional 2 years, making it 7 years total.)

Hope this helps clarify things a bit...

Sony's pushing it as part of their "PS5 Ready" series and is actually one of the few TV's capable of gaming 4K at 120 Frames...however this tv will not do it out the box until a firmware update Sony has yet to push. It's assumed they'll do it closer to PS5 launch Source: https://www.techradar.com/news/sony-ps5-ready-tv

I mean you bought this way back in July. So you've enjoyed this TV for about 2 months while others patiently waited. Maybe just go to Costco and see if they will price adjust without all the hassles of returning. Cause you returning will just cause your TV to get sent back to Sony and they will then have to sell it as refurbished and then reship it somewhere else to sell. The carbon footprint of all this is huge.

Also for military you can get tax free at The Exchange for $999 (but not as great of a warranty as Costco). Posted last week on SD.
You can actually buy from the exchange and still warranty through costco although you do get 1 less year of coverage

Is there a way to get this deal without being a Costco member? Looks like membership is only $60/year, but I just don't think I'd ever visit the store to grocery shop.
Technically you could get the membership, buy the TV, and then get a refund on your membership. Kinda sketchy to do that but Costco has a no questions asked refund on your membership fee.

I gave you a like for the idea but so you know if you bought Oct 25 technically the 30 day window ends Nov 23 (unless they go by the day of the month) and BF is Nov 27.
If you purchase online, they start from the day it's delivered to you, so that's an option.

Consider this is the lowest price ever, it may sold out before oct 25. I may just buy it on the first day and return it if BF price is much cheaper(more than $50 different).

If I was purchasing this TV I'd buy day 1 to avoid it selling out. It's a great price under $1000 and I don't imagine it'll drop much further by the end of the year. I wish the 55" would drop in price a bit as well.

Crap, I bought the front page $600 Samsung deal earlier today but this is the TV I've had my eye on for a while. You think it's worth spending $370 more to get the Sony? Obviously will come with a much better warranty and 90 day return window.
If you're going to change your mind every time a new deal on a TV comes up you're going to go insane. No one can tell you if the extra money is worth it to spend, you have to educate yourself about the things you want to buy and make the decision about what's best for you. Or ask your mom.

This Sony is well worth it. I bought the RU8000 a month ago got $600 while it's ok it's just really dim even for my darker room(I returned on day 13 to bestbuy lol). This Sony is like twice as bright. And the Sony has full bandwidth 2.1 ports. Although I'm hesitant to buy it before the "Firmware update" I highlydoubt Sony won't come through with this they would have a class action lawsuit on their hands they've promised it all over the place"PlayStation 5 Ready" and in 2017 Sony made this HT5000 soundbar and HDMI 2.1 isn't it wasn't even known to man so none of those features like EARC was there and Sony went out of their way in 2018 and made that HT5000 the very first EARC sound bar meanwhile my LG SJ9 which came out the same year was shown off at the same January 2017 CES never got any update that did anything better than day one. Sony is solid.

It would have to be $200 different for me to do that. It's a hasel moving this crap. I returned a 65 inch RU8000 and it's just annoying to get someone to help you to move it 55-in is basically the biggest thing you can do on your own.

I also am wondering this, if anyone has experience with both. I was all ready to snag the best buy deal tomorrow morning then saw this which, I am under the impression is a superior option for future ps5 owners. This would be a mixed usage tv for sure but gaming is equally, if not slightly more, important. Don't have much of a glare concern in my room as I keep it relatively dark typically.

Also a quick question regarding warranty. As I understand it, to receive a comparable 3 year warranty from BB, I would have to pay $90 for geek squad protection? As such, should that play a major part in my decision making process?

Tldr: Is it worth the extra $350+ for a ps5/pc (amd gpu) user vs the Samsung RU8000 for $600, to be used as a mixed usage tv? I really appreciate any advice you fine folks might have, in advance!

I managed to get TCL 75R635 @ 950 via BB price match. Not picky on size and i am ok with 65 as well and not much of gamer. Sony + costco + warranty sounds more comforting than TCL /panel lottery + additional $$ for warranty. So TCL 75" R635 @960 $ or sony 65"900H @ 970$ ? Kindly suggest.
