For everyone who keeps questioning the warranty information:

The boxes in the warehouse have an additional packet of warranty information attached to the boxes. (At least they do here locally.)

So even though the box is printed with a 3-year warranty on it, the additional information explains the extension of the 3 year warranty to 5 years.

(And yes, if you use the Costco Visa credit card, that tacks on an additional 2 years, making it 7 years total.)

Hope this helps clarify things a bit...

Sony's pushing it as part of their "PS5 Ready" series and is actually one of the few TV's capable of gaming 4K at 120 Frames...however this tv will not do it out the box until a firmware update Sony has yet to push. I mean you bought this way back in July. So you've enjoyed this TV for about 2 months while others patiently waited. Maybe just go to Costco and see if they will price adjust without all the hassles of returning. Cause you returning will just cause your TV to get sent back to Sony and they will then have to sell it as refurbished and then reship it somewhere else to sell. The carbon footprint of all this is huge.

Can anyone report whether their box says 5 year warranty opposed to the 3 year box ?

PS. if u try to explain to support that the tv was originally 3 years and now its 5 they have no idea what ur talking about and dont really understand... sucks

I didn't receive the TV yet, but did chat with Costco's concierge service, who subsequently contacted Sony on my behalf, and verified that yes, the X90CH does in fact carry a 5 year manufacturer's warranty.

My understanding is that the X90CH is identical to the 900H, but all the clubs and warehouses use different model names. This practice is to circumvent price matching, apparently.

TLDR: 5 year manufacturer's warranty confirmed.

I honestly want this TV for my game room because I have a 65 inch 900E there and I have Xbox Series X and PS5 coming in November but the entire no HDMI 2.1 being available right now and only with firmware update is giving me a pause. I want to see how it works first and reviews for it before investing money. I got burned by Sony before with Sony 900C where TV was out and HDR was going to come with a firmware update and it did but it wasn't completely wide color gamut just a limited HDR and TV wasn't as bright as it should be. I got burned by Samsung with KS8000 when they said that HDR10+ was going to be added but they never did and then dropped support for it completely. For now I'm going to just game on 900E or my 950G in the media room. If everything checks out well after Firmware upgrade then I'll buy it but if not I'll wait for 900I or 950I models next year that should have HDMI 2.1 right out of the box.

Sure its confirmed but I'm talking about people who bout it before the sale.. I would think that universally if you have a x90ch u have 5 years of warranty tho.

Totally understand, it's hard to trust any company they've all burned us. I will say though, what's holding back all this HDMI 2.1 stuff on Android is simply Android TV version 11, it was just released 1~ week ago, and it's now headed to manufactures in the next month or two.

So I'm confident it is coming, and I personally think Sony will be one of the first due to PS5 and their relationship to AndroidTV.

Always buy a piece of tech for what it offers right now. Never buy it for what it can be updated to. Your case and point, sometimes the company won't go on their word. Or there may be limitations.

For movie watching? TCL 6 does a better job of tone mapping, better blacks and HDR performance. The limited dimming zones on the Sony limit the capabilities of it.

I soo wanted to buy this at this price, but i need to put this in a bright room and the reflection/viewing angle and HDR Peak brightness killed it for me... this is an excellent price if you dont plan to put this in a bright room.
