Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

can hook up 20% and 200 off stack?
one hookup code per account.

Is there a limit to how many type 3 codes I can redeem on 1 account? If I buy two 5g phones I can redeem it twice (on 2 separate lines)?
Limit is 1 per account

what happens to the monthly bill credits if you pay it off?
Any remaining credits get transferred to the account level (and happen on a monthly basis), but your line is cleared for being able to be used for EIP again.

What does this mean in T&C? "Receive a one-time bill credit based on your trade-in value, and the balance of the offer via 24 monthly bill credits." How would they determine trade-in value, and what would be min/max trade-in value/one time credit?

Got a hookup code but when I entered it I got a message saying my account isn't eligible. Did I do something wrong or was the code not valid?

What it's been in the past is that depending on your device being traded in there is an upfront value that is credited to the account. For the S7 it wouldn't shock me if it's something like $50. So you'd take the remaining $450 of the offer, break it into 24 payments, and that would be the amount put into bill credits so you'd have the full $500 coming to you assuming you stay in their good graces for 24 months.

I do not have their initial trade in values that they are using but my experience has been that they are not that generous. I used to assume that if you are told the trade in value when you go online to buy a phone that it would be the amount, but my last time through a deal it was less.

Any idea if we can buy, pay off the balance and get it unlocked, we will still get the monthly credits?

Did anyone find info about MST on this phone? or is it just NFC for Samsung Pay ?
And does it use Corning Gorilla 5 or 6 ?
Also does it have OIS for camera?

Which of the three hookup codes did you get? If you got a hookup type 1 code and you're a current customer, correct the code is not valid. That's only for new accounts of people switching.

If it's a hookup type 3 code, you will need to wait to get your new phone and enter the IMEI as part of the qualification.

The mechanics of the different codes are listed more exactly in the thread dedicated to that deal:

If you payoff the device, I presume credits would continue? Also, would there be hard pull, when/if you buy the device? Any idea?

But the hookup supposedly expires Sept 30 and we don't get the new phone until after Oct 2.
Would that work?
