Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

So why would anyone use the $200 off hookup rather than the 20% off? Is there some scenario I'm missing where the 20% off every month wouldn't be better VERY quickly?

Mine says "See how to save $500 when you add a line & trade in a eligible device." I thought this was going to be a straight trade in no add a line? Check the mobile app im on that.

The 20% off is for new switching customers. The $200 off is for existing customers buying a 5G phone. They are not for the same audience.

Just called one of the stores and they don't have S20 FE in stock.
Can I still go there with my trade in phone and they will order it for me?
I asked my Rep how to trade in the phone and the Rep said I can drop it off at the store and I asked if I can ship it as I don't want to go into a store if I don't have to. The new phone will come with the trade in shipping label as I was told.

I recommend that you bring the phone that you want to trade in so one less thing you have to deal with later plus things gets lost in the mail.

why would it be in "stock" when the phone is coming out Oct 2nd..
Ok.
Still can I go to the store to order it and give them a trade in phone for $500 discount?

Should I call first and ask if they could provide me with a hookup code?

The 4a and 3a XL screens are much closer in size than you may realize, and the everyday pricing on the 4a is simply too close to this offer to justify unless you're just trying to pinch every penny. That extra $150 buys you a phone with arguably the best camera on the market and 3 years of software updates (and peace of mind). Software functionality alone means that in 3 years you're probably still running a phone with features and functionality unavailable in brand new competitor phones(!).

My 2016 Pixel XL 1st gen still takes amazing pictures and is running Android 10 (admittedly no longer receiving patches past this). My 2017 S8 is on Android 9, and was demoted to a quarterly security patch schedule... if I'm lucky (current patch is from June); this is all a choice made and stated by Samsung to limit the number of supported "major" upgrades. I have an S9 getting newer updates but my long-term goal is to get all my primary phones onto the Pixel ecosystem.

For someone in the Samsung ecosystem today this could be a no-brainer but I'd be wary of taking anyone out of the Pixel ecosystem and onto a Samsung, especially given the heavily discounted Pixel prices available in the Pixel a-series.

Good luck!
Jon
Agreed. I think most tend to go the specs sheet which is fair when comparing a Pixel to other phones the constant issue referenced is one might state its a 'Flagship' phone therefore it should have this feature or this specification etc and that's not unfair but what they can't see on the spec sheet is the experience that is Pixel the simple no frills user experience it doesn't have all the gimmicky add ons that most people will never use and as you pointed to it stays relevant for a significant time for a reasonable price point.

Every phone doesn't need to be a Rolls Royce to get you from point A to point B, yes you'll get there in style and comfort, but so would so many other vehicles just not as luxuriously that's Pixel just not at Rolls Royce prices.

It seems like it's a crapshoot of the hookup $200 off will be accepted since terms say it expires at end of month and we won't get phone and imei for days later. Definitely would expect to have to deal with customer service to get this as I expect issues

I just did mine online so in store should be ok. I got my hookup code from tmobile's reddit but worth a shot to call.

As long as it's paid for, like from cricket or metro.
For example, I'm trading in my iphone 7 that's locked to Cricket.
