Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

This is my order summary via calling the 1-800 number.

Order Date: 9/25/2020

Upgrade Fee Amount $20.00

Why the phone cost $0? I thought the $500 over 24 months bill credit.

I'm paying off a Pixel 3a... (no credits - just monthly payments) I assume I'm gonna have to pay the balance in full to trade it and get this deal?
Yes, since the phone you send in has to be paid up.

More details on promo rules here [t-mobile.com]
How Recurring Device Credits (RDC) work
To receive Recurring Device Credits (RDC), you must purchase your device on EIP and meet any other requirements of the promotion.
You may have one Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo per line at a time. To get a new Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo and keep your current credit, you must pay off the existing EIP first.
If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months).
Additionally, you can't pay off an EIP by deducting the remaining Recurring Device Credits (RDC) installments from the remaining EIP balance. The full EIP balance must be paid to close out the plan.

I wish the phone cost $0. The $67.70 charge is what T-Mobile will charge me at shipping for tax and upgrade fee, the cost of the phone is on another agreement that's spread out over 24 months just as the $500 credit. I hope this helps.

Can anyone confirm on the following. I went into the second link (the 500$ off) and when you read the "got questions" sections, there are parts that say "Save $500" and others that say "To save up to $500". There's even a link to estimate the value of the trade in wjere a galaxy S7 is said to be worth 37$, not even close to the stated 500$. Can anyone confirm on this?

Thanks to everyone who answered the 2nd part of my question about being able to use the insider code only once. To touch on the first part of my question again:

I want to get 2 of these phones. One for free by adding a new line, and one for $500 off by trading in my iPhone 7 on my primary line. Think this is possible to do?

It's two different versions of the promo that are not connected . 1 is add a line get the phone free. The other is Trade a specific phone get $500 off ( which is what most people are doing)

Just a quick FYI. Apparently certain plans are not allowed to recieve the $500 discount. I am on an old Select Choice plan and was told I don't qualify. I didn't even know till I reached out to T-Force to validate that it looked right on their end.

If you're on an old plan, you may want to ask! Not sure what's not qualified since the rep told me that the term "service" in the full terms was where I'm exempted.

This is the line in the terms where it's a vague disqualification. Qualifying credit, service, & trade-in

For those who are worried about not being able to use the Type 3 code when the phone arrives, why not just opt for the regular S20 instead if you don't mind the slightly smaller curved screen and battery?
