Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

I could very well be wrong, but my understanding is that you can check whether a Hookup code is valid without a phone's IMEI. However, there's no way to "save" or "reserve" a code, so someone else could still use it before you can.

Checking Hookup codes:
  1. If you've received a Hookup code and want to make sure it works, you can enter it at https://insider.t-mobile.com/lookup
  2. Valid Type 3 codes will show:
    1. Offer Name: 2020 T-Mobile Insider $200 Off
    2. Invites Reserved: 0
    3. Invites Redeemed: 0
    4. Invites Available: 1
  3. If the Offer Name is "2020 T-Mobile Insider $200 Off Device" - note "Device" at the end - that is a Type 2 code and isn't valid for this promotion
  4. If the "Invites Available" is 0, then the code has already been claimed and you will not be able to use it
I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

I just did this with my Pixel 3 today and purchased 2 galaxy s7s to trade in next week. With this all our 10 voice lines will have EIP credits so I won't be able to take advantage of these kinds of promotions for a while. I really hope the $70 accessories credit from Samsung would stack in the same account.

This deal would have a lot more upvotes and far less comments if it wasn't so confusing and roundabout. No one is going to trade-in a pittance for their phone for the hopes of a $500 promotional value that has no assurance of being applied in the future or even documented. The biggest problem is the online order site never displays this promotion. There is no self-service option. You either have to go to a store (with a mask on) and hope they are aware of the promo and can provide paperwork as proof if anything goes awry in their system, call a customer support line in India with a bad line and unintelligble English and have your phone call recorded in case something screws up, or screenshot a long chat transcript from chatting in the app.

I will try my luck with their chat and hopefully everything works out without a hitch and I have everything documented. My trust in T-mobile has eroded significantly after several billing mishaps and even a sim swap scam they fell for.

You should be able to pay off some of those phones in full and then take on additional promos on the lines your pay off while still getting the previous bill credits on the paid off lines. I asked this on Facebook chat yesterday and was told you can. See below.

___
If you pay off the phone you will still get the credits and you can participate in a new promotion too! If customers pay off their EIP early, they continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC's) as an account level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months). Customers can only have one promotion at a time on a line. If customer wants to take advantage of a new offer and they already have an EIP promotional bill credit on the same line, they must pay off their existing EIP balance to get the new offer. This includes the amount you'd get as credits.

Most of them are paid off but I didn't know that there can be multiple EIP credits on the same line. I've been told by T-mobile reps in the past that new EIP credits would invalidate old ones on the same lines.

That thing you quoted says that customers can only have one promotion at a time on a line. It contradicts itself.

Free with no trade in required when you activate a new line:

If you want to keep your existing number, just port it to Tello for $3 and then port back to the new line.

So I guess I found the answer to my own question. We can indeed use the same Samsung account to register multiple devices to get the $70 accessories credit for each phone. https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile...questions/

Is this confirmed? Or is it a better idea to call T mobile to confirm? Seems risky to just proceed and assume it'll work that way when it's not clearly mentioned anywhere unless I'm missing it when I'm attempting to order.
