As noted by Fryth [link], this machine comes with a pulley setup that offers 1:2 resistance ratio. So, each 165 pound weight stack offers 82.5 pounds of resistance.

1. Weight - This thing is as heavy as you'd expect. It comes on a pallet with three large boxes and a bunch of boxes full of weights. You might be able to move the pieces by yourself but really should be at least two people. It took 4-5 hours to get fully put together.
2. It comes with more resistance that i expected. I debated on ordering additional weight from the manufacturer Day 1 but glad I didn't.
3. Motion - Smoother than i expected. The cable move really smoothly for a non-commercial piece of equipment. For tricep pushdowns it is a little short but it's doable and there many alternatives.
4. Bench - For me, it is basically garbage. It's far too short for practical use and I ended up getting a regular size one off Amazon that is much better.
5. Wall poster - Since i'm not the only one in the house to use it I got a $10 wall poster from Amazon that has a bunch of different types of exercises.
6. Flooring - Costco had some really nice 1/2" foam gym padding I got to put this and other equipment on. If you're even considering it, doing the flooring first will be a hell of a lot easier than after.
Overall i'm very happy with it as it substitutes many other pieces of equipment, and is quick to switch exercises. Hope this was helpful
All the best,

See page 27 of the User Manual for a table of weight increments for the XRS 50:
https://a.sellpoint.net/a/nkxReq9Y.pdf
Some of the steps jump by more than 40 pounds. Some by 11 pounds. None of the weights increase by a uniform amount. You simply get what you got.
The FTX is much more controlled. Each plate adds 5 lbs. of resistance.
If I were on a limited budget or if my space was constrained, I'd probably pick the XRS 50.

The pulley system raises/lowers effortlessly... like with two fingers. Better than any I've seen.
Using the included straight-ish bar, you can pull ~165lbs of felt weight at once, which is great for a deadlift motion. Granted, it's not super-heavy for DL, but for rehab purposes it's great.
Using the separate D rings, you get 82.5lbs per hand for various presses and such, which is more than adequate for a cable fly.
I can execute a tri-push down balanced on a bar at the gym using my whole body weight, so this machine is lacking in terms of max weight there. However, push-downs using the rope are significantly harder... you can also do one arm at a time for tri extensions. You could also use the straight bar and both weight stacks for skull crushers. So, there's plenty here to keep you busy.
One caveat, this unit was designed to easily fit in a room with an 8' ceiling. I'm 6'4". The max and min handle heights are not very low or high. For lat pulldowns, it's not super useful to me as I'd have to sit flat on the floor; plus the weight is not nearly heavy enough compared to ~260lbs at the gym. But, you can do pull ups and use the strap to add resistance! ...and regarding the min height off the floor, you can stand on a step or box to increase ROM.
Recommended.
Assuming the cable can handle the additional weight (or take the risk, accordingly), the cable would need to be shortened to accommodate the higher stack. Is that just a matter of tightening the mechanism or do you need to cut and re-tie the cable?
You'd also have to be willing to forego the product's lifetime warranty.

Not sure how long the selector pin is, but I wonder if you're able to stick it through let say a 25lb weight plate and then into the weight stack. I've done this many times on the cable machines in commercial gyms without issues but I wonder if it'll work on the FTX. Can anybody try this and take a picture? If there's anyway to add on weight, I'm sold.

I'll apply the clear liquid on the rails for now and order the super lube for long term usage once this dries out
Needed to make sure the clear liquid is lube for rails otherwise it might mess up the rails, thanks a lot for clarifying

However, most people install the unit at about a 45 degree angle, so that one side is parallel to the wall. Installed that way, the machine's footprint almost fits into a 4' x 4' square (it sticks out a few inches). If you're looking to put some flooring down only for the machine itself, I'd say you could manage to get by with a 4' x 4' square. If you're looking for an outline of the amount of space you need to set up and use the machine, then you need space to position your body, place the bench, and to stretch your arms. For that, you need a minimum of 5' x 7' space. (I'd recommend laying out a 6' x 8' space for comfort's sake.) Click second thumbnail, below.

Also, if it's not too much to ask can you please confirm the height from the ground up to the highest point (I assume center of pull-up bar)? Is it in-fact 82.5?" I only have exactly 83" when my garage opens. Won't be utilizing the pull-up bar, just want to make sure it clears.
There seems to be lots of discussion about floor mats for these. Any problem just setting it directly on my concrete garage floor? It's not like we're doing deadlifts or slamming anything on the ground with a functional trainer...
