This is one of the more recommended bikes as a DIY Peloton. You're getting magnetic resistance, belt driven, 4 way adjustable seat, & adjustable handlebars. Throw on a cadence sensor + figure out the comparative resistance with Peloton classes and you have yourself a solid DIY Peloton.
I would have considered purchasing a Peloton, but Peloton locks you into a $40/m subscription if you purchase their bike. The same subscription you can access for $12/m if you don't own a peloton product. If you're set on a Peloton and want to save some $$, they will be introducing used models in the near future.

was able to get $13 promotional credit via chat.
With that said, the resistance measurement should not be undersold if you are planning on using an online class like Peleton. That cannot be added on like cadence and HR and it is convenient (if trying to match a class). Think of the Ech. App as the monitor that comes on most bikes (only it shows slightly more data).
I think the Ech. classes are pretty good but probably wouldn't pay for them. You can do a free ride w/o cost or use Peleton for less (or YouTube for free-some good one there).
I think you'd be good with either bike. I do trust the longevity of the Echelon but that is just my opinion.

1. Get a regular computer monitor with HDMI input. One should be able to get a good 24 inch IPS monitor for less than $200, or can use an old computer monitor sitting around
2. Get a phone to HDMI cable based on type of phone you use
3, Connect phone to the monitor according to the following instructions
1). iPhone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO8fVLm
2). Samsung phone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kZQxAW
3). Huawei phone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo_7LLl

I still think Schwinn IC4 is a better deal at $861 [amazon.com]. It has a built-in color LCD console monitoring heart rate, speed, time, distance, calories and RPMs; magnetic resistance with 100 micro-adjustable resistance levels similar to that of the Peloton; dual link SPD foot pedals come standard with toe cages or clips; built-in bluetooth connectivity.
