This is definitely worth considering if you're looking for a DIY Peloton. I purchased it a few weeks ago as a form of home cardio and I'm loving it. If you're moving up from this price point, you're doing so for on-board bike computers & possible built-in screens.

This is one of the more recommended bikes as a DIY Peloton. You're getting magnetic resistance, belt driven, 4 way adjustable seat, & adjustable handlebars. Throw on a cadence sensor + figure out the comparative resistance with Peloton classes and you have yourself a solid DIY Peloton.

I would have considered purchasing a Peloton, but Peloton locks you into a $40/m subscription if you purchase their bike. The same subscription you can access for $12/m if you don't own a peloton product. If you're set on a Peloton and want to save some $$, they will be introducing used models in the near future.

Tempting. We sold our treadmill last year and wife has no where to hang our extra clothes. How many hangers will this accommodate? I couldn't find that in the specs.

This model has magnetic resistance so that shouldn't be a problem.

After comparing these two, I just bought the Echelon connect sport from Walmart at $499. I feel it is better and just works out of the box.
I'll add my agreement about the Echelon Sport bike. (I've had mine for 2 weeks) Before I do, I will say that I'd been watching this Sunny bike (1805) and this is a good deal and it does have a slightly heavier flywheel (Echelon is 33lbs.).

With that said, the resistance measurement should not be undersold if you are planning on using an online class like Peleton. That cannot be added on like cadence and HR and it is convenient (if trying to match a class). Think of the Ech. App as the monitor that comes on most bikes (only it shows slightly more data).

I think the Ech. classes are pretty good but probably wouldn't pay for them. You can do a free ride w/o cost or use Peleton for less (or YouTube for free-some good one there).

I think you'd be good with either bike. I do trust the longevity of the Echelon but that is just my opinion.

You can cancel and re-order. It'll just delay your shipping. That's what I just did.

I read your post on Reddit and gave it an up vote as I just grabbed the amazon echelon that was on sale few weeks back. Do u know if it's possibly to use Fitbit intercession for heart rate of another subreddit to look at for more info. Thanks in advance
I am not sure about that specific question.

I think the following setup should work for Peloton App or Explore the World App , running app on your phone with a big monitor,

1. Get a regular computer monitor with HDMI input. One should be able to get a good 24 inch IPS monitor for less than $200, or can use an old computer monitor sitting around
2. Get a phone to HDMI cable based on type of phone you use
3, Connect phone to the monitor according to the following instructions
1). iPhone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO8fVLmsDdI
2). Samsung phone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kZQxAWTKos
3). Huawei phone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo_7LLlHzog

None. The feet slip under the handle bar. It's a perfect fit by chance. I was prepared to drill or try monitor mounts. As stable as the bike itself.
What do u think about this monitor? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079K3M...GFbF9PNJX8

Seems like a lot of trouble when you can just get an ipad for $250 when it's on sale.

Worth a shot. Mines 3 years old or so and out of production.

Some people may prefer Peloton like 22 inch or larger screen. Also,if you have an old unused phone sitting around, you can use it as a dedicated controller for the LCD monitor. You can also get a a dedicated 4K TV as monitor (like this43 inch TV for $120).

I still think Schwinn IC4 is a better deal at $861 [amazon.com]. It has a built-in color LCD console monitoring heart rate, speed, time, distance, calories and RPMs; magnetic resistance with 100 micro-adjustable resistance levels similar to that of the Peloton; dual link SPD foot pedals come standard with toe cages or clips; built-in bluetooth connectivity.

Wow I made this order on amazon the same day that it was posted. I got an email several hours ago that it was shipped. I just checked the order status and now it shows undeliverable and "Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. We will issue a refund within 48 hours. We're very sorry for the inconvenience."

Did anyone get this???

Any good seat cover recommendations to make the seat softer?
