Nice to see this coming down in price! I'm still torn between this or saving the 1k and getting the 900H instead.

What did you initially offer?

Earlier this year ( Mar) I bid $2300 for 85inch x950G, greentoe gave a counter of $2599 which i did not accept, hoping it will go down with all COVID fiasco at peak. It went out of stock instead, regretting it to this date. Hoping x950H will come close to $2800 by end of this year.

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat. After going to look at both in person, I noticed the 900h viewing angles are not nearly as bad as people have made it out to be.

I'm leaning towards saving $900 and buying a Sonos Arc with the money saved

I haven't seem either in person yet but my seating setup doesn't have any wide viewing angles so that's not a concern for me. The TV will also be in a basement theatre room so sun/light is not an issue.

I bought a Denon 4700H so it would be nice to have a TV with HDMI 2.1 support. Decisions!

Its a crap shoot for 2020! Everything i thought would happen with prices for electronics and houses was exactly opposite. I missed the mark on the effect on prices of so many many staying home.

It will be interesting to see if Prime Day on the 13th has an affect on pricing of the higher end TVs

Why not just get a 77" OLED at this price? The size difference is negligible.

77 vs 85 is negligible? Truly a question as I've not compared both side by side? I've seen 75 side by side to 85 and it was quite a difference

It's not that noticeable. Not enough to halve your picture quality.

Best Buy has a pretty neat digital size comparison chart in their stores. And yes, while the PQ is nicer on the LG, nearly 10% larger is quite noticeable and I find it more immersive of a viewing experience. YMMV.

Also, even if you're not concerned with price/size, avoiding burn-in can be a priority.

I was wondering about this too until I actually visited my local BB with a tape measure and sat back at 15' and watched a 77" and the 85". My goal was immersion, and the 85" won. Sure, the oled looks better at closer distances, but size ended up being more important imo.
