SD is having a server issue, so unable to add this info to main post, but the current trade in offer does not allow for the extra 20% off this promotion price. I just placed the order after going through the trade for my 7th gen ($25 trade), and the instant GC applied - but not the extra 20%.

There was a lot of speculation that the new Paperwhite would be released on prime day but I haven't heard anything more about this. Perhaps this push to unload this version means it will be coming sooner than later. I have been holding off because their are supposed to be screen option improvement that are more like the current oasis.

I'm hoping they offer this price on actual Prime Day without jumping through the hoops of ordering off an Echo device (which I don't have). I know this price was listed as part of the Prime Day previews.

That might be a few years down the road since the Kindle Oasis (top of the line Kindle) still uses micro and they have no rush to switch to USB-C since these devices don't need rapid charging like a tablet or phone. So basically it could be the next release, whenever that comes, or it could be much longer.
