For those thinking about the A3300, it's a fantastic price at $350. Typically it is $499 at full price. Both the Ascent A2500 and the Ascent A3300 models are $499 at full price. The A2500 only has the count up timer (not a programmable timer) that shows you the time lapse during blending, and it has knobs and levers. The A2500 also has three built-in presets. There is also an Ascent A2300 model (base Ascent model), which is the same as the A2500 minus the built-in presets that is $450 at full price. The A3300 is all digital with a programmable timer. The A3300's programmable timer counts up to show blending time lapse, but can also be set to stop after X amount of seconds or minutes. The A3300 is all digital and some consider that easier to clean because the panel is flat with no knobs or levers. The A3300 does not have built in presets. However, ALL Ascent (and the Costco Venturist model) can connect to the Vitamix Perfect Blend App and access many presets. They connect via bluetooth, the app recognizes what container size is on the blender, and you can pick any of the many presets and just press start on your actual blender. So even though the A3300 doesn't have built in presets, you can access presets via the app. The priciest model, the A3500, is all digital and the same as the A3300 except that it has five built-in presets and comes in metal housing finishes that supposedly make the unit quieter when blending (see lifeisnoyoke videos and reviews that discuss this). The only colors that are non metallic for the priciest A3500 are candy apple red and white, which are plastic finish and supposedly not as quiet as the metal housed bases. The A3300 on sale at Amazon right now in Black Diamond is supposedly the non metal housing finish. The A3300's only metal housed base is the brushed stainless steel. Regardless, the A3300 Amazon sale price for Black Diamond is an excellent deal. Only the Ascent (and Costco Venturist) blenders are compatible with the new food processor attachment and the smart detect 20 oz jar and 8 oz bowls. So if you care about compatibility with new smart detect accessories now and going forward, you probably want an Ascent (or Venturist) model. If all you care about is a good blend, any of the classics/non Ascent models blend wonderfully too. Hope this helps.

5200 is the pick for America's Test Kitchen.

This is mostly because it comes with a taller jar that vortexes better than the shorter wider jars.

Main difference between this one and the 750?

shoot. I had just talked myself out of upgrading my blendtec that needs a new jar....
Ha! Same exact thing for me a few weeks ago...contacted Blendtec and they stated out of warranty but offered a 50% off coupon code for new jar....i then got the Rebel+ figuring I'd migrate over to the Vitamix line anyways (motor was also going kapoot on the Blendtec).

Just ordered the 750 with almost 40% discount as well....hope this was a good buy as i have no experience with Vitamix.

5200 is cheaper than the Vitamix sale a few weeks back

You're right. Darn. This is $30 cheaper. Great deal
Yeah, but the Vitamix sale on the 5200 was the stainless finish, if that's something you care about. Amazon doesn't carry that finish.

I had a hard time deciding the same thing. In this case if I had $400 to spend I probably would go with the Ascent series. I am impressed with new technology and I wonder what other attachments are going to come out for these models. I have the 750 pro and have had it for 2 weeks I purchased it used and it is slightly better than my 5200. If you have never had a vitamix before you will be happy with whatever model you choose. Their customer service is top notch as well.

Yep, that's why I went for the 5200 in the vitamix sale, even though historically the black finish is around this price on Amazon when on sale. I like the stainless finish much better.

Good price on the 5200. I purchased it for someone July 2019 for $279 and this is even cheaper.

How does it work out for Amazon? Are they selling the 5200 at a loss ? Or if that's the real cost for them, pity all those who buy it at full retail price..

Upon further thinking, I see what's going on.. There must be a lot of left-over units because of reduced restaurant/home demand. And they are clearing those at cost basis. So, it doesn't mean one can buy the 5200 at this price every year.

Also, in support of those who pay $400 for the 5200(or full price for any other product such as a laptop or a smartphone), such people tend to take good care of the product and use it for longer time than those who buy it for cheap.

Bottom line, as there are billionaires and those who make $1 a day and all kinds of people in-between, there are also people who pay $1200 for a new iphone, those who pay $49 for an iphone 7 on sale and all kinds of people in-between.

The ascent series can use the smaller cups the 5200 cannot. You can buy extra cups for the ascent series. The ascent series uses a self detect technology which requries different containers than the E series of Legacy series. They are not interchangeable. The containers for the ascent series are more expensive than the containers for the 5200.
The 5200 can use the 20 ounce cup but you need a personal cup adapter plus the cup. I had that set up for about a week and hated it. I felt it much easier from a cleaning and blending standpoint to just use the tall container and dump it in a personal cup.
Thank you for the details. Ordered the A3300 and found the accessory 20oz cup set on Vitamix website. Wonder if they ever go on sale $130 seems step for 2 cups.

The ascent with its modular blending cup/bowl (sold separately) is perfect for making single servings (1-2 cups worth). I'd wait on that, maybe BF. The 2300 was on sale a few months ago for $270 and has been a pleasure to use in the kitchen.

Good price. I would buy it if Vitamix provided an option of a dry container. I don't know why they don't do it. Maybe they are too greedy.

I do dry stuff in mine using the small container. Is there something I am missing out on by not having a dedicated dry container?
