1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

The only issue I have is that IUP requires you to buy Apple Care + on top of the phone
In any case, that discussion is irrelevant to the current $150 T-Mobile deal. I'm pretty confident that this deal would apply whether you pay in full, monthly on the Apple Card, or through the IUP. Just looking for some feedback on that aspect.
Currently the code is broken. It is a complete irrelevance if you have the phone or not if the code is invalid!

also build quality on the pro is better. The stainless steel sides look great imo compared to aluminum.
Looking at T-Mobile's current plan pricing... yuck.
Why would you put money down on a lease ?
If you must trade in, use the Apple Card, Citizen's One loan, or Carrier's 30 month paln.
If so, it makes it really tempting for the heck of it with the spare line I have. If not, I totally understand since most of those are based around postpaid activations.
