You can get a Basic Sam's Club membership for $45 with $45 in credit to be used on an in-store Sam's Club purchase within the first 60 days. This will remove the $20 "handling fee" (ie. 10% surcharge for non-membership), but you will still be charged $12-ish for shipping.

The Slickdeals page for Sam's Club membership says the deal is good for in-store purchase only. Below is one that's good for online purchase. I'm guessing SD won't like it that I'm posting, so I've put spaces in the URL. Remove them and visit. There's no sort of referral in the URL, it's just the coupon code that activates the $45 store credit.

My wife has been an avid cook for 30 years. There's about 5 days a month my wife does not cook with these. She has been using them for the last 5 years.

These can be "non-stick" with proper preparation AND care/cleaning (no soap). There are videos that show you how to season stainless steel cookware. The video will go into how to clean them as well. And after cleaning they need to have a light oiling on the inside.

My wife told me that she had to relearn how to cook in them because they heat up so quickly and evenly.

She absolutely loves them. She has also stated that she could see how the maintenance of them would be a "non-starter" for some.

I may be misremembering, but I think this is a good price for a 10-piece set let alone a 14-piece set.
They weren't new and you used them for 21 years. You're the reason why stores quit offering generous return policies.
I own these and all clad. They are 99% as good as all clad
. i use an all clad skillet, but for pots these are actually better because the all clad handles suck

Really? When did you order? I would hate to buy a Sam's membership to get this to find out it is sold out.

Any one else confirm.

I read 8 pages of thread to come to find out it is sold out???

Any thoughts on the Viking set on sale for same price? It doesn't have a 12 inch pan tough.

Almost all Tramontina Tri-Ply Clad sold in the USA is the Chinese version, but there is a rarer, made-in-Brazil version that uses a non-magnetic grade of stainless steel on the exterior for extra corrosion resistance. If you have even the slightest interest in maybe using induction one day, then I highly recommend getting the Chinese version because it's "futureproof" in that it's induction compatible, and you don't need that much corrosion resistance on the outside. (Induction is a rare but growing stove type in the USA;
That's bullshit. First of all, these are made in Brazil. They advertised that, and they are stamped with that one them. Second, if you shop around stores that sell single pans from displaced sets (TJ Maxx, Homegoods, etc) you will know that's horse shit.

I would put them all in the same tier as far as quality (make sure you're comparing tri-ply full clad). The main differences are the pan shape and how it works for your cooking area. I don't have any Calphalon pans but my Cuisinart pans are just as good I'd say and also have rivets. The lid on the Cuisinart is glass though and the base is a little less rounded. Minor differences but all the same good quality IMO.

If anyone looking for good quality frying pan, I bought a 11" and 9.5" for approx $90 with a 15% new customer coupon and 8% cashback from some sites

They are basically Demeyere, Belgian made, 5 Ply stainless steel. Far superior quality and survive a lifetime

Any ideas on how to avoid the Sams club membership trap to get this item?

Seems like the item is $200, shipping is $16 and the non membership handling fee is $20. And the taxes are charged for all fees (not just the item which I am not sure if it is right). Brings the item to $260 :-(

Whats the refund policy on the plus membership in case I get it and later not find any use for it down the line?

There is now a "similar" set at Costco for the same price:
https://www.costco.com/tramontina...25588.html

It looks to be the same product line but with different variety of pieces.
I actually prefer the Sam's club version. It has a bigger deep saute pan (6 qt vs 3), a 12 inch saute pan (those are usually pretty expensive on its own), and a steamer while the costco only has an extra 1.5 qt saucepan with lid which in my opinion is pretty worthless considering both has a 2qt with lid already.

The one from Costco has the tri-ply on the base only. This one is their try-ply clad model where the aluminum goes all the way to the ends of the pan.
Also the lids are glass and this set is supposedly made in China. Not the quality of the Tri clad in any way.

So they're not induction compatible?
We have this set and it is beautiful, functional, made in Brazil, and is 100% induction ready. Soooo many people are mixing the apples (made in Brazil) with the oranges (made in China sets). Most sets made in China have glass lids and or are not tri-clad all the way to the lips. This set -14-Piece Tramontina Tri-Ply Clad Cookware Set item # 80116/045DS is 100% made in Brazil according to Tramontina CS folks we talked to before ordering ours.
Highly recommend if you can get it, if you have the cash get All-Clad at three times the money.

How does this compare to the gourmet set that the Wirecutter recommends?
