Youtube Review of this TV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsXo2OAzPms

FYI: There is only a 30 warranty for these onn black friday models. When I called onn, they gave me a different number for these "legacy TV's" they called it. The number is 1-888-516-2630. At that number (Walmart Onn Support) they said these models have no warranty other than 30 days, and advised going into the store and purchasing an extended warranty, and then calling that company immediately to register the TV for the purchased warranty.

Your comment cannot be blank.

no worry, u wont be able to get it, walmart most likely only got 10 pcs for sale at this price
We live in a time where a 50" 4k TV is $128, wow. That's like the price to upgrade a smart phone to its "plus" or "pro" version
It won't be available even 5 minutes into November 4th.

After I called Walmart, Onn TV and Element, I found out this particular model (100021258) was not made by Element. Thus it is not supported by Onn or Element, and is not qualified for 2nd year warranty with registration. This 50" together with 55" and 65" Onn TVs sold during BF is actually manufactured by Hisense at deep discount price just supplying for WM Black Friday. It has a designated phone support and a third party if you buy Walmart Protection Plan. Basically it comes with one-year standard warranty from Walmart.

Return it. There is no warranty on this Black Friday model. I contacted onn about warranty, and they gave me a phone number to call. I called the number they gave me 1-888-516-2630 and someone from Walmart answered the phone. They told me the Black Friday midel onn TV's do not come with a manufacturer warranty. They told me that I could go in store to the electronics department, and purchase a warranty. And went on to say if I did that, I would then have to call the warranty company which I purchased from Walmart to let them know it was a black friday model, and to register with them immediately, otherwise that warranty could become invalid. Crazy! My TV is going back to Wallyworld.

I had a chat online with onnsupport and they registered for 2 years of warranty. I had no issue in that.

That's odd. And on your TV box you have the model number 100021258 ?

And if yes, please provide me with the link where you had the online chat. Thanks

Thanks for link. I just chatted and was told...

Okay, the model number you have provided is not supported by us. This model is manufactured by a different TV brand. Please contact 8885162630.

When i pressed them on it, they responded...

ONN is a Walmart brand. And they have different TV manufacturer. We are the Element Electronics manufacture.

So I called that phone number again, and they are Walmarts Onn TV support line. They told me the same thing, that this model and all other onn black friday models have a 30 day warranty only. Ridiculous

I see you responded below. The agent told me this model number 100021258 is only manufactured by Hisense. What a PITA

The element model number is 100012585 and sold on Walmart at link below..
https://www.walmart.com/ip/onn-50...gK-tvD_BwE

I called Hisense, and they do not provide a warranty for this model TV either.

I heard they have two manufacturers. First is hisense and second is elements. Some people got from hisense and some from elements

Thanks for checking this. Just to clarify if I have 100021258 then that's only valid for a 30 day warranty? What kind of joke is that it's shorter than most holiday return policies. Mine is probably going back too...

Yes, that's correct. I understand that it's a black friday deep discount, but I feel this is extremely shady of Walmart. I just sold it on Craigslist for 150 cash. If you really like the TV and price, try going into the store ASAP and see if they allow you to purchase a 3 year extended warranty. For an item that cost $128, the 3 year Allstate warranty sold by Walmart is only 13 bucks. And that's if they are willing to sell it to you. If they do allow you to buy the extended warranty, call the warranty company immediately after to register it so you don't have a problem obtaining warranty service down the road.

Need some help - I got this tv and set it up. Played on PS4 - graphics look good and improved from my old 1080p tv.

Here's the issue - my cable box is HD - but the picture quality looks very underwhelming. I even downlaoded the youtube app and when watching the videos, despite being on the highest quality settings, my videos also look non-hd. I really don't get why. I essentially have the factory settings - any suggestions on settings to weak perhaps?

How are people liking this Onn? Anyone having trouble with the sound going out like another poster said?

I haven't tried this yet (it's a gift), just hoping it's good. I also got the TCL that was on sale for myself, and that one finally popped up the option to buy a warranty but the Onn didn't. I wish I would've grabbed the warranty when I bought the TV, thought I probably wouldn't want one but would have the option to get it later if I changed my mind. Since this is a gift for someone that I would be troubleshooting problems or buying them a new tv if this dies, I realized the warranty does make sense even on a cheap tv. If I find another really good deal on another tv for myself, I may just give the tcl as the gift and return the onn.

Mine works perfectly fine but I am returning it for insignia 50 inch. Supposedly, it is better than ONN

The reason why sound doesn't work is because you have "fast TV start" enabled. It is a bug with this TV. When you have this enabled, turning the tv off, then back on will stop audio from working. You will need to disable "fast TV start" in Roku settings then reboot for this problem to go away.

There is a thread at Roku website with this bug - https://community.roku.com/t5/Pla...m-p/629694 .

You need to post on this Roku thread documenting the problem on your ONN tv. It's possible that Roku might issue a bug fix for this problem through a software update but only if enough people complain about it. Otherwise, I wouldn't count on this bug being fixed period.

Overall, fairly disappointed. I tried calling Walmart warranty support per wiki phone # and their only option is to return it. I had it delivered to my home, and they want me to drive it to a store but my car is too small to fit it nor do I think I should have to as it is clearly a widespread bug on these TVs. At least I purchased the 3 year warranty for $13.

I checked yesterday, and still no option to buy an extended warranty for the ONN. I had thought it might pop up eventually, as an option to buy a warranty for the TCL I got showed up after a few days. Today I planned to go into chat and ask about buying a warranty for the ONN as it didn't look like it would show up, BUT I checked my purchase history again before getting into chat, and the option was there!

Just an fyi to anyone wanting the warranty. I know most probably don't, but I bought this as a gift for the MIL and I'm sure if it dies I'd probably feel the need to replace it for her, and probably with another 50" whether there happened to be a deal on one at the moment or not. So to me it's worth it to get the warranty.

Why are you disappointed, is it just the bug, or overall performance? I got this for a MIL who has a very basic 32" tv currently, so I think this will be an improvement for her. And she listens via headphones, so I don't think the quality of the built-in speakers will matter much except when she has guests, which won't be often.

Also, when you say you have to disable fast TV start and then reboot, do you mean just turn the tv off and back on? Any idea if the bug will affect sound if you're listening through headphones? Thanks for any tips!
