for some reason I couldn't do this last year, I think it was because you have to be an existing customer of one of these 3? You can't just join and then cancel or something. Either way last year I tried and there was no way to make a good deal out of this.

This was a sweet deal when I got my XR for 250 without a trade in. I paid 650 and got a 400 WM GC (essentially cash imo).

This a great deal. I did the sams club one last year in person but if you don't get there early and wait like an isheep outside then all the phones with the bigger memory will run out. Hopefully Sam's club includes the iphone 12 and we can do it online due to covid. I don't see Sprint on the walmart website. I only see Verizon and AT&T.

Verizon doesn't lock iphones and I believe some other carriers only require you to keep the phone on your account for a certain number of days. I did the Walmart deal online last year to get the new at the time 11 pro max. It was fairly painless for me. Then went and traded in my old 8 plus to Apple for a $300 gift card to cover the cost of Apple Care on the new phone. For Verizon customers, I've seen many "deals" that you will only qualify for credits on a trade in if you have an unlimited plan. Thats a big NO for me as I have 10gb and it would be $30 more a month!! This year, the deal is for last years models, so I'd be cautious on what you are actually paying for the phone itself after inflated pricing and if you are getting fair value for your trade. Mobile Carriers are not generous when taking your old device, so check Apple, Amazon, Best Buy etc. for a comparison.

Please see my post above !! Have replied to same question for another SDer !! Don't know if Walmart will have iPhone 12 deal this year... also Apple releasing iphone 12 late this year could also be one of the reason !! Last year iphones 11 and 11 pros were released on Sep Annual event and Sams had the one day sale event on Oct 2nd week having a month to plan ahead.. but this time, since Apple has just launched the iPhone 12 (launch date of iphone 12 pro max is Nov first week), the Sam's one day event will clash with BF !!! Moreover not sure if Sams will even have this one day event this year due to Covid in person shopping and social distancing restrictions !! Imagine 300 - 400 people queuing up for buying iphone 12 standing 6 feet apart inside the store since it has started getting colder in East Coast!!
