Dyson V8 Absolute Yellow @Dyson.com for $299

Dyson Absolute for $299 plus tax from Dyson.com.

It says that it comes with 1 additional tool, the Mattress tool, but I did manage to get them to throw in the 4 piece handheld tool kit for the same price. (YMMV on the extra tools)

https://www.dyson.com/vacuum-clea...ute-yellow - $299.99

I have owned a V8 for years and love it. It gets the same 89 rating from the leading consumer magazine (which will go unnamed), as the newest V11 Torque Drive which sells for much more....and only 1 point less than the V11 Outsize (rated 90). Mine is getting old and battery no longer lasts as long as it once did, so figured I would upgrade. I use it as a second, quick vacuum for smaller jobs.......and use my Miele as my whole house vacuum. Highly recommend this model.

@tachy, how long are you realistically getting out of your battery? That's been my main reason for wanting to go with the v10. Also we're you able to get the four piece set online or by contacting them?

Dysons typically last 20-30 minutes of use. Its more for that quick job and not for anything that needs more than 10 minutes of vacuuming.

My V8 was a "refurbished" unit in 2017, and still lasts for all my normal use on regular power.....(at least 15 minutes)...but on Max power, has decreased to less than a minute (more like less than 10 seconds most of the time)...which is not really usable.). Also, to answer your other question....I had called to see if they would add the other 4 tools.

Thanks for posting... I took advantage of this one. But I'm not clear on what 4 tools they offered you? It already comes with mini soft dusting brush, crevice tool, mini motorized tool, and combination tool. The mattress brush came free with my order. I see a tool set on the website that goes for $75, is this the one they offered?

Yes, I think it is called the handheld tool set for about $75. The most important of which is the flexible extension. I had that for my old one, and it is what I keep on the charger all the time...with the combination tool. Works great for small cleanups......and is probably the most common tool I use (or combination of tools). The others.....I think are the mattress tool (which they included as default) is good, and the "stiff bristle brush" for mud or dried dirt, which I think I have only used twice in the 5 or 6 years I have owned them. But I find the flexible extension hose is an essential tool. The only reason I asked for these, was 2 weeks ago, when the V8 Absolute was on sale on their site for $349, the 4 tool set was the bonus tool set that was included, but just on this model. They then lowered the price by $50 and today posted it with just the mattress tool, which seem to be the standard tool they are giving out on most of their models (now and two weeks ago as well).

Hmmm......at least at my check.....it still says the $30 tool...which I assume is the mattress tool.

If you mean the one with the soft rotating brush....I think so. (their web page says it comes with the soft roller cleaner head).

Just quickly checked a Black Friday site from last year - looks like it was selling for $250. Not sure if it came with any additional attachments or not, and who knows if it will this year.

The best thing I recall last year was the v10 + dok that had like all the accessories for 400$. Haven't seen that deal pop up again since then.
the v8 i don't imagine much better but if you can hold off it likely wouldn't hurt.

You're right. I misunderstood - I thought the parts that are there (crevice tool, etc.) were the additional pieces. I guess those always come with the vacuum.
