It is sad that when Audiovox bought over Klipsch they changed the synergy line speakers into reference series. The original reference series speakers are now called reference premier. They effectively diluted the brand in the name of profit. It makes it harder to distinguish between the two now until you look closely at the label. Don't get me wrong, I own the original Klipsch reference line before the take-over and I love them.

I've bought Klipsch from Adorama myself, but you should know they are not a authorized dealer.
They're on Klipsch's site as authorized for clearance sales

That's not entirely true, they are an authorized klipsch clearance dealer https://www.klipsch.com/authorize...ne-dealers

Would this be an upgrade, or not worth the trouble? TIA.

Do you think it would be a good idea to swap the center with this? Would it sound good with the tower speakers? I imagine I can probably sell the R-52 center for a decent.

I got a similar setup from Adorama but with a Sub. The center in this is kind of ok and I've been looking for good deals on center. This looks great but I would still wait for a better deal

The woofers are built made of different materials. The FP-440c woofers are made of cerametallic and the one you bought at Costco are copper spun IMG build woofers. You won't technically have matching timbre, but I don't really believe you will be able to tell the difference much. Just make sure you set up your crossovers correctly to match the LCR.
