Usually $219 and right now on sale for $139. It's now cheaper then the 7 1/4 sliding miter saw which retails for $189. Cheapest I've seen.

The sliding mechanism introduces wobble into the cut, therefore you can't expect the cut to stay on angle (or bevel) for the length of the cut while sliding. To counter this, you can disable the sliding mechanism by turning a knob, but will then be limited to cuts that are the length of the radius of the blade (<5" on 90 degrees, even less on miter cuts). For sliding cuts, the wobble is fine for rough carpentry like framing, but not good for things like trim carpentry and fine woodworking. You are not going to notice any of this when using it with construction grade pine from Home Depot/Lowes because none of those boards are milled straight to begin with. For molding purposes, a little bit of caulk and paint will make any gaps disappear.

All sliding-miter saws are going to have this same issue, though some of the more expensive ones will have less wobble. For long, accurate miter cuts (or beveled), the best tool will be a table saw with a miter gauge.

Both corded and cordless can be great saws.
I have a 12" milwaukee M18 miter saw and it has plenty of power and lasts all day for trim work and even cuts 2x12s and 6x6s with no problem. Sure a corded saw has more power but if battery powered saws can make smooth cuts and last all day what do you need more power for? Of course you will often pay more for a battery powered saw but they work great.

I just picked up both of these. Perfect timing since im just about to start a new project. The ridgid stand is an outstanding deal for $99. Couldn't pass that up.

Seems like this would be good enough for most common home projects? I'm looking at replacing some decking (which is diagonal and needs angled cuts or else I'd just use a circular saw) and maybe installing crown molding at some point.

I could spend $300+ on a Dewalt, but I'm not going to turn into Norm Abram any time soon.

This will be plenty for a deck. I've done dexking with only a circular saw before, it's not the best.

Great saw, combined this deal with $10% off coupon they sent me last time it was this price, would definitely but again, this is way better than the 10" Chicago Electric for all you cheapskates out there lol, don't get tempted by her seductive price!

Bought this saw back in December and it gets the job done. Will probably want an angle finder with it since the angles can be off quite a bit but u get what u pay
