Besides the size difference, lg gram has removable ram and 2*nvme slots for future upgrade. Where as x1c's ram is soldered and only has 1 nvme slot.
There are also a couple other options on there too, I think it's a great deal and kind of one of the only ways to find them in stock at all actually. The last week or so I have been reading a lot of notebookcheck making a spreadsheet out of all the possible 14-15" laptops now that I am working from home and putting my WalMart Motile to the limit. I visited MicroCenter and Best Buy and typed on and picked up every laptop on display and ended up liking the ThinkPad the most. In the other Lenovo thread I saw many people talking about shipping delays, often months long, when I tried putting together a custom build for one on their site a couple nights ago it quoted me shipping in November, but I pulled the trigger on this this morning, it said ships the next day and I already got myUPS notification it's coming tomorrow.
This isnt meant to be for gaming. The dell xps13 with these specs will run you over 1k too. As well as laptops such as the lg gram 15

Well, last year December I bought 10th Generation, same specs for 999.99$. Just the only difference was 512 gb in place of 1TB and touch screen.

So this is a good deal.

have 7th gen x1 carbon for work with the 6 core i7 and the privacy guard screen - wouldn't trade it for anything from a travel perspective - I have never had this combination of portability and light weight without being fragile as I have with this thing

Great deal - amazing laptop.

Got an X1 Gen 8 around 6 months ago. Smaller HD and i5 for 1.3k....

The laptop is great. Feels crazy solid, lightweight, amazing keyboard. Great battery.

I use it for work mostly so no gaming. If it got stolen tomorrow I would buy another one in a heartbeat and not bother doing any more research. Was also at the time looking at the Dell XPS 13 and this seemed to be a more solid build,
