I am a Civil Engineer and I did the math for you:

$1970 85" version cost 63.8 cents per square inch of screen
$1599 75" version cost 66.5 cents per square inch of screen
$970 65" version cost 53.7 cents per square inch of screen

Therefore, the 75" version is the worst choice and actually cost more than the 85" version when looking at cost per square inch of screen

Direct Link to purchase TV: https://www.costco.com/sony-85%22...57292.html (goes in and out of stock).
Rtings.com review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900h (IMHO one of the best LED TV's out there)

Costco.com VS Costco Warehouses (physical stores)

Costco.com vs Costco Warehouses (physical stores) act as 2 different business units and will not price match if bought from the "other" store.

Costco.com

Costco.com Price Adjustment Page: https://customerservice.costco.co...l/a_id/628
30-day Price Adjustment
Multiple people have chatted/talked with customer support and have posted proof that orders will be price adjusted.
Multiple Costco.com orders even have the price adjustment already issued.
Free shipping

Costco Warehouses

Price adjustment seems to depend on the associate/store manager so YMMV.
The carton is a beast and DON'T LAY TV FLAT when transporting.

4K 120HZ Blur Issue

(11/13) Sony has acknowledged the blur issue and promised to address it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254079
Here is the Sony support page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254078

Hope this helps!

Hah. I also got the 75" on the 1570 sale. Wife saw me looking at this and gave me a hard no.

I bought and opened the 75 and want to trade up to the 85, but also feel bad returning a perfectly good TV. They really should have had the 85 at that price during the Prime Day sale, as I have a feeling a bunch of people who bought the 75 will do the same.
I get it, but their policy is clear. If you are unsatisfied for ANY reason you can return your item to the store. In my opinion, hundreds of dollars is a pretty damn good reason.

So I can only get a price adjustment if I buy it on the Friday before the 20th or do I have to buy it on the 20th?

Any written information on that anywhere? The official Costco.com Price Adjustment page doesn't list any exclusions from the 30 day adjustment policy for promotional prices from time of online order. Could this behave differently online vs in-store? it's listed as policy for costco.com orders.
You dont believe me call costco.com

Just got off a chat with a rep on costco.com specifically looking at my order for this TV today and was told a price adjustment on 11/20 to $1969.99 won't be a problem.

I also just got off a chat with Costco.com and was told there are no exclusion periods for price adjustments on online orders, including black friday, as long as the promotional price for the adjustment goes live within 30 days from order date. I specifically asked about my order for this TV today and an adjustment on 11/20 to the upcoming sale price of $1969.99 and was told it won't be a problem.

Per the rep the chat is now attached to my account and I saved a transcript with the reference number.

Until I see credible information to the contrary I'll keep my order.
This is reassuring but, if they do price match, do they give you the difference in tax back too? For me, it's roughly 10% which is 57 bucks. It's something.

Also, I'm not sure if my bed room would look weird with this huge TV in it. I was looking at the 75" which would fit perfectly but this is such a good deal...

Really? Darn I was gonna order now and set delivery after BF.
I set my delivery for the 24th. Ill try to adjust on the 20th. If they say no, ill just order another one and cancel the first delivery. If they say its too late for the cancellation, just do a return.

Going from a 82" to 85" is an increase of 7.45% screen area
Going from a 82" to 92" is an increase of 25.88% screen area
Thanks, but they're all numbers. Can I "see" the difference in reality from 82" to 85"?

Hmmm decisions, buy now and ask for price match or buy later and risk a sell out.
If you really want a new TV and want an 85 inch beast I would buy this now and just price match it once the sale price goes live. Go into store and buy it but talk to a manager first just to confirm they won't have any issue price matching on Nov 20th when the sale price goes live.

I think if you go through the price adjust form it says it won't adjust until item ships (and then credit is 3-5 days with no confirmation), but you might be able to do it through chat... not sure.

Unfortunately, I've never seen my local Costco's carry the 85", only the 75" and lower.

That's different than my Costco here in Colorado Springs. Soon as I walk in the front door there are 85" monsters staring you in the face just tempting you to buy them lol.

Wow. I bought the 950g 75" last Christmas for $2k. Reviews show little differences between them. 85" is so tempting lol

This TV is very buggy. I ended up returning 2 units because of buggy software, wifi, random shutoffs on both tvs.

"Software" is the same on all of them. Looks you got lemons.
