I am a Civil Engineer and I did the math for you:

$1970 85" version cost 63.8 cents per square inch of screen
$1599 75" version cost 66.5 cents per square inch of screen
$970 65" version cost 53.7 cents per square inch of screen

Therefore, the 75" version is the worst choice and actually cost more than the 85" version when looking at cost per square inch of screen

Direct Link to purchase TV: https://www.costco.com/sony-85%22...57292.html (goes in and out of stock).
Rtings.com review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900h (IMHO one of the best LED TV's out there)

Costco.com VS Costco Warehouses (physical stores)

Costco.com vs Costco Warehouses (physical stores) act as 2 different business units and will not price match if bought from the "other" store.

Costco.com

Costco.com Price Adjustment Page: https://customerservice.costco.co...l/a_id/628
30-day Price Adjustment
Multiple people have chatted/talked with customer support and have posted proof that orders will be price adjusted.
Multiple Costco.com orders even have the price adjustment already issued.
Free shipping

Costco Warehouses

Price adjustment seems to depend on the associate/store manager so YMMV.
The carton is a beast and DON'T LAY TV FLAT when transporting.

4K 120HZ Blur Issue

(11/13) Sony has acknowledged the blur issue and promised to address it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254079
Here is the Sony support page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254078

Hope this helps!

Hah. I also got the 75" on the 1570 sale. Wife saw me looking at this and gave me a hard no.

So if I am reading this right the lower VESA holes are slightly over 5 1/2 inches from the bottom. 140.5mm to be exact. Which put the upper holes at 21 1/4 or 540.5mm. The upper vesa mounting holes to the top of the TV are 21 1/2 or 547.8mm. Add those 3 up should equal the total height of the TV. Just over 43 1/4 or 1102.8mm. Sonys website put it at 43 1/3
Close enough for me to pre mount the wall mount.
Sony seems to be pretty consistent about the lower VESA mounting holes being the same distance from the bottom of the TV. For this particular model they are about all the same from the 55 to the 85 inch. This makes it nice as it keeps the bottom of the TV around the same height and prevents needing to move the mount if you upsize to a larger TV later on.

If you are using a Sanus mount, you can use their height finder guide [sanus.com] by entering the model number and the mount for the drill hole calculations depending on where you prefer the location of the TV.

How long after purchase do you have to do a Price adjustment? I just got mine last week so I hope I am just under the wire

Thanks. Thinking of the Sanus Full Motion Mount ( https://www.costco.com/sanus-simp...00168.html ) that will be on sale during the same time. Can't seem to put that Model SLF226-B1

planning to buy this at bestbuy.

Any other suggestion.
Thanks for posting this. I did a lot of research and purchased the Sanus VLT6-B1 from Amazon for $120 but it looks like this one you posted is essentially the same thing labeled as a Best Buy exclusive for $70! Off I go to return.

OK, so I'm seeing a lot of people saying that online chat reps have indicated that a price adjustment shouldn't be a problem, and I can order now with a delivery date of 11/11, but [being paranoid] is there any reason why I should consider pushing the delivery date to 11/20 or later?
Costco Prescott AZ store manager said they cracked down on price matching for seasonal sales and I'd have to wait till 11/20 for the price as they wouldn't adjust.

I ordered online after having an online chat. The rep was not as clear as I would have liked but I pressed the matter until I could get a "clear enough" comment from him that they would do a price adjustment. I exported the conversation as a PDF and the rep also gave me a reference # for the chat.

That said, I'm still worried that the story will change when the 20th arrives, but I'll make a big stink about it and request a refund (with them coming to pick up the TV) if necessary.

My local costco verified that they will pricematch the 85" and the 75" ($1569) on 11/20. I would've went 85, but it wouldn't fit in my suv.
Hi, I thought the promo is only on the 85" and not the 75". Can you please send the link to the 75" option. Thank you.

poor black levels, too dim for great HDR, and is IPS so good viewing angles but poor contrast.

Yeah, I guess it could be confusing the way I wrote it but green is the upside and the rest of the sentence is the downsides. Also, the 82" is the only VA panel in that LG series.
Good to know, so the 82 is the contender (in the LG 8570 line)....thanks.

No advertised link, but the costco employee said the price is going to drop on 11/20 and I'd have to come in to get it pricematched after.

Thanks. So this means how far should the TV be installed above ground if a 9 foot ceiling?

How high are you thinking of mounting this? Asking because if the mid point of the screen is 42" then the bottom of the TV is only 20.5' off the ground which seems really low.
I am mounting mine centered on the wall so the bottom of the TV is a little below my eye height. People often say to have the mid-point match your eye height, however most people aren't sitting perfectly straight and are leaned back a a little so I don't think it is a big deal if it is a little higher. With a TV this large, I really don't think it matters much. I also sit pretty far away so it matters even less. If you have a 5.1 surround system with a center speaker, people also say to have the center speaker at ear height which is basically the same as eye height. So you obviously can't do both.

I am mounting at 26 inch from the ground.

So to those who have this TV - the firmware update is the HDMI 2.1 working or no? I'm not interested in dropping 2k for a TV that doesn't work as it's supposed to...

It works. But it does not work without noticeable jitter on PC @ 4K/120hz.
