Cheaper option would be edge glued panels from home depot for 50 dollars. But size limited to 4 feet
I used 1X24X48 LAMINATED PINE from homedepot and stained it. Picture attached. Board cost $20. I did spend more money and time in finishing though.

can you give insight on the tabletop you went with?

I bought the black model on prime day as well. Ended up using 2 identical 13" x 55" slabs of wood that I had in the garage instead of buying a new butchers block. Aligned them on the floor, put the flipped over frame on top, drilled, flipped upright, no regrets. A desk pad covers most of the visible split between the 2 slabs.
Basically you'll be good with whatever you go with.

I find it a little odd that both the FEZIBO and UNICOO have the exact same descriptions for "ELECTRIC LIFT SYSTEM" and "TRUSTWORTHY". Not sure if that means anything. Definitely interested in the 3 stage frames since they go lower and have higher weight limits. I'll be using a 2.25" thick live edge fir slab that's 20"x60" so the frame will need to go low and support a lot of weight.

For anyone thinking about the UNICOO frame, looks like their website has it for the same price [unicoousa.com]as amazon with free shipping but isn't charging tax. They make you pay return shipping + 20% restocking fee, FYI.

Pros:
- Easy to build (1-person, <1hr)
- Stable foundation (No wobbling)
- Lowest cost dual-motors as of August 2020 on Amazon
- Manages 50+pounds with ease

Cons:
- Makes some gearing noises when moving up/down (don't know how it compares to competition)

Here's [imgur.com]a video of it in action. Put a 4ft butcher block from Home Depot and it does the job well. Considering I purchased this for $230 during August, this is a solid deal; wonder if it'll go cheaper. Nonetheless, if your're in the market for one, this works so far.

Nicely done. looks good. I'm not a woodworking guy but I've always heard that pine is a soft wood and dents easily. Is that the case with yours?

Yes it's a bit soft but not like it's going to impact a lot.. unless you use for drafting i think pine is okay..

20 dollars for board is cheap and it's 2 inch thick. But staining and sanding is time consuming especially in this weather...

Downside of a crossbar is bruised shins (if attached low on the supports). I have both types and vastly prefer sans bar.
I did some work that involved 4 different brands with various models. I had to assemble them and work with them, 10 tables total. No bar without weight on it, is NO Problem. NO BAR WITH weight, like a monitor of about 25-30lbs cantilevered on a arm IS a constant instability wobble. Also, some have glass top design, and this does not allow a monitor arm to be mounted. You use may likely vary. If you like desk space a monitor arm is a no brainer for desktop computer use.

Linnmon is fiberboard, with honeycomb paper filling. If you plan to use a monitor arm (especially a dual monitor one), I wouldn't recommend it without a lot of reinforcement...
What type of issues would you see? I had a Linmon corner piece before and put a dual monitor arm on it, and the arm tilted forward a bit, but I just assumed that was because of a low quality arm.

After 3-4 coats of spar urethane the surface gets reasonably tough and forgiving. Even with pine. Exotic wood costs dearly and I wouldn't do it unless I was doing live edge or river run. I may do that for my home office desk but this is covid19 desk!
I think routing the edges and rounding the corners will make it last long.

do you personally own this one?
Yes I do sir, I actually use it with a vivo desk top.
I called the company and they said they've been around for 5 years and this is the first year selling this model ___ they said their single motor one uses touch screen display which isn't as reliable. This dual motor variant uses buttons and they said it's the best

Do you have any questions ? The motors are quiet and extremely precise...

I ordered two UNICOO dual motor desks and they've been great. I had a shipping issue that caused some frustration (they originally sent me two boxes of white foam tiles instead of two white desks), but it ultimately got sorted out.
Yooooo so far it's working like a charm right?!

I did a ton of research and I'm not concerned with warranty. They seem to take care of the buyers as long as they have a order number... Nonetheless I have extended return window so If something goes wrong I have until Jan of next year to return everything.. and yeah that means hauling all this 200 lbs of steel In a box back to usps or FedEx lol

So far I'm really happy with it. The lowest height setting is what I really liked.

If everyone here doesn't know.... Fully and all of those lower end companies use motors sourced from china JIACHANG specifically. So don't waste your money on brand names when you will get the same quality motor for less money my dooooood

If you really worried and wiling to dish out the cash for american made frames and possibly motors* I would go with iMovR - their higher tier frames offer that

Fully/Uplift are not lower end? They are decidedly middle of the road and have a warranty that they back up 100%

That being said - JIACHANG makes hundreds of combinations with varying frames/motors/etc. None of them are 'cheap' as in cheap like this lower end TIMOTION or whatever that's on display. Everything is middle of the road and up, and they force each company to pay for new tooling to customize their frame in one way or another. Even as a distributor you couldn't find one of their frames at this price. Any JIACHANG frame is superior to this frame, and the UNICOO frames. As you move up from the middle of the road - the iMovR Landers/etc are just on par with the higher end JIACHANGs but they won't sell frame only to a consumer so you have to go iMovR or buy finished desks

Have you personally owned a UNICOO and urlhasbeenblocked to make that kind of claim? Seen tear downs and analyzed their internal builds?

You might be right, but I don't want to deal with returns right now given how heavy the frame is 😭

I'll stick with my gut feeling and won't turn back. Worst case if UNiCoo breaks down on me and the company refuses to provide warranty service, I'll learn my lesson and just invest in a higher priced frame from a more reputable company 👀

Thank you for your input

It really depends how much weight it's supporting, but if you Google "Linnmon Dual Monitor Arm" for example, you can see some discussion of it potentially sagging or even breaking off, see
https://linustechtips.com/main/to...a-linnmon/ for example. I haven't personally experienced it, but saw enough people mention it that I didn't want to risk it.
