Sure thing. Just spread some rep if you can Wink

Calibration was aiming for 6500K with gamma set to 2.2. So I calibrated with a brightness of 40, contrast 50, black boost 5. Color 2.2, color temp set to User, R Gain 48, G Gain 47, B Gain 47.

It's said you can adjust brightness without affecting the temperature or colors much. Rtings calibrates at 100 nits actually (for those that don't know).

Uploaded the .icm file and the DisplayCal report post-calibration.

I can try to calibrate again under the Warm color temperature setting. I think it should be more universal, and at 6600K it's already close to my target of 6500K. Just keep in mind the whole procedure takes roughly an hour, so give me a day or two if anyone is interested.

Slickdeals site doesn't allow me to upload .icm files, so I uploaded to Google Drive.

I looked into this and general consensus is that this WILL NOT work. Most Costco employees online are saying they are told not to honor price adjustments for Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and sales for items purchased beforehand. Of course, you can risk it but there isn't any guarantee you will get the price adjusted (most said if the item goes out of stock, Costco will definitely not price adjust).

This deal is super tempting but I will play it safe and hold out to the 30th just in case a similar Dell monitor goes on sale.

Edit: also found out that even using the Costco Visa Rewards CC will not qualify your purchase for the price rewind. It only applies to other stores' prices, not to Costco.

I only meant IPS is better than VA (this deal) for gaming. Esports will always be TN 24". VA is slow on dark colors 20-30ms
Ah, understood, thanks for explaining.

I would definitely go with IPS if they had curved for a similar price.

But for the price, this is a great deal.

My order was cancelled, I put in another order. I think it's because it's my grandmother's account coming to my address.

It is not. It is just a metal...tripod. Probably a cost cutting feature.

I knew this before buying and was planning to mount on my VESA arm anyways. The monitor comes with long risers to provide VESA mounting.
Thanks again. I was pretty sure it didn't. I can't easily mount it so I'm likely going to stick with the Lenovo G34w-10 I recently picked up.

I just got the monitor, hooked it up and here are my initial impressions:

1. Works at 144 Hz on DisplayPort, I had a leftover cable from a previous LG monitor.
2. G-SYNC works. I am using an RTX 2080. I used the G-SYNC demo to verify this.
3. OSD has some gamer features like crosshairs, refresh rate display
4. Text is sharp. Visual Studio Code looks great!

I can test PiP/PBP later, I do see options for those on the OSD

Let me know if there are other questions!
Thanks! What's the response time in milliseconds? There's an ultra wide 1080 tall 32:9 monitor at Costco for 650 bucks. It's a VA as well with 4ms response time. I'm into racing and wanted to do an ultra super wide monitor to complete my racing rig. Besides full motion, an ultra wide monitor is the only thing I'm really missing. I'd appreciate any input / feedback. Thank you!

I have the 34" Samsung and will be returning it when I get the Acer tomorrow. There is just too much color shift on the Samsung when I'm looking at it straight on. I thought I could deal with it, and probably would have if the Acer deal didn't come along, but it's just too annoying.

I'm using this monitor purely for work/productivity, no gaming.

Got the Acer today and totally blew away the Samsung! Acer's VA panel is as good as some LG IPS panels! I do however, notice a somewhat noticeable vertical "band" of lighter color right in the middle of the Acer panel -- is that expected?

How is the brightness and colors? I have an older 34 Ultrawide (Asus MX34VQ) and a Nano-IPS 27 HP from this year and the brightness and colors on the HP blow the Asus away. If this is bright and has non-muted colors, I am in.
Received my monitor today. Already measured some settings, and calibrated using a Spyder 5 and DisplayCal.

Nits

20%=83
30%=117
40%=162
50%=205
60%=228
70%=250

90%=294
100%=354

Warm = 6600K
Blue Light = 5100K
Cool = 8300K
Normal = 7500K

Colors are mostly good without calibration, just the blacks that are slightly shifted.

Getting a popping sound from time to time, and a slight flicker from time to time -- nothing too bad, just not perfect. Muted the sound, and the pop went away, but the random flicker is still there. Might be my fault though, since I'm using a 15' DP cable. Lowering the refresh rate to 100Hz does help.

The speakers are a joke, but I kinda assumed (2 watt speakers LOL). It's many times worse than a Google Mini.

Text is OK. Not as clear as my Dell U2518D (2560X1440 @ 25"). Maybe it's a VA thing, as PPI is more or less the same (110 PPI for the Acer and 117 PPI for the Dell). I've already gone through ClearType -- still not satisfied.

Overall it's nice. No WOW factor for me -- just a size upgrade. Don't let it deter you though, I've just been spoiled early on with 2K, IPS, and OLED.

If you don't end up liking it and want IPS Acer has a 34" Nitro (flat though) which was recently on sale for $400. It expired two days ago but might be on sale again as BF/CM gets closer

That's what worried me as I also have an OLED TV in my home and a secondary NanoIPS 27' monitor. The logical choice would be LG, but I can't justify spending 800-850 on an ultrawide for minimal gains. Mayu get this to try and return if anything. The Gigabyte 34 is also an option.

I tested PBP and it works pretty well. My DisplayPort source automatically adjusted to 1720x1440, while my HDMI source had to be manually set to that resolution. There are two PBP modes: full (aka stretch) and aspect, which maintains the original aspect ratio.

I also tested PiP. There is a small and large mode (the large mode takes is about half the width of the screen). You can select which of the 4 corners to place the picture.

Bonus is monitors do NOT fall under TV or Computer category so virtually lifetime warranty .

I had a HP monitor that died after 2 years+ (still had box) so I boxed it up, took it to my local store and they gave me full retail price plus taxes in store credit. This is why I'd rather pay $50 more than other retail store and get it from Costco.

Not to mention the 2 yr conceige warranty from Costco is excellent to say the least. I used it early this year on my 65" Vizio and they sent out repair tech (before Covid) and TV was repaired within a week and it's been fine since then.

So for excel use this monitor is not recommended at all due to texr issue? Sad
